Porcello has been pitching really good. But the Red Sox are really far away from home and at the end of the season Rick's numbers are going to be just like i see on the back of his baseball card. The Mariners are going to get alot of hits on him tonight and they will get enough runs to spot Iwakuma for the win.

The team isn't going anywhere so why not see what you have? This is why nobody takes you seriously. They're two games out of first in the division, and currently hold the second WC spot. We've had some frustrating losses lately, but "isn't going anywhere" is just silly. Also, I think the griping about Farrell is nitpicking this time. David Price cruised through seven with a manageable pitch count and the bottom of the order coming up for the third time. He ended up facing 28 batters on the night. So if he was pulled too late, it was by one batter, and the timing of the hook isn't the thing that cost us the game. We lost the game because the guy we just acquired to murder lefties was instead murdered by a lefty. Frustrating, but IMO this was a reasonable series of moves that led to the worst possible outcome. He does plenty of things wrong; history says that he'll give you many more chances to add to the list. No need to reach. Ya second wild card spot is the best the Red Sox can do. The Tigers and the Astros will be right there with the Red Sox. Sox Just will not be able to win many games on the road.

Maybe right now he is willing to walk some guys by trying to get swings and misses. He doesnt care where the catchers mitt is! If no one can get decent contact on him he might as well experiment. But time will tell.

Thats why having all different types of ballparks is so awesome. That Homerun by Marcus Betts would have been a single at Fenway.

The Mariners played 12 innings last night, I was hoping Jon Lester would fail to get the bunt down so the mariners would use more of there bullpen and get fly into Seattle really late.

Its about time AJ Preller gets what he deserved. He is getting so greedy he is trading unhealthy players for prospects. He is trying to burn the entire MLB.

Not that many Leftys i worry about getting out late in a game. We still have the most dangerous Lefty in the game in Ortiz. Donaldson, Bautista, Encarnacion, Machado, and Trumbo seem to be the biggest problem for the Red Sox this season.

Define to high? #1 CF prospect in the game by BAmerica and baseball america is pretty darn good at identifying ML talent. If the Chicago GM trades Sale or any other cost controlled starter with promise, he should be fired Baseball america highly values proximity to the majors and Benintendi is close to the majors. They also aren't exactly perfect when it comes to identifying talent. Andy freakin Marte says hello, along with others who were their #1 overall prospect over the years who never did anything at the big league level. Regarding Chicago's GM being fired, how about the Josh Becket trade for the Marlins? Seems to have worked out well for them as well as for us. You'll notice the examples I used are all "case closed" so we don't have to wait a couple years for definitive answers. How did it work out for the Marlins?

It is fine to present contrarian opinions (e.g., I think Kopech will be Syndergaard 2.0). It is not fine to make statements of fact that are demonstrably false or cannot be supported (e.g., that he has an effortless delivery or that he's a strike-throwing machine). The standard you need to hold yourself to is the ground rules of this forum, one of which is don't bait other members into arguments. You know full well which of your posts are hyperbolic and poorly supported and are there just to get a rise out of folks. Please stop making those posts. No, he's Noah 2.0ah (tm). Thats too bad. I dont want a (Noah 2.0). Theres a hand full of other pitchers id rather him end up being similar to. Anyway the only one that said Michael Kopech will be the second coming of Noah is Michael Kopech lol.

"Just had a good feeling about Hani." -JF I was going for " we liked Hani in that situation, he had some good at bats early on in the game, that tough called third strike.

Now 3-for-3 with 2 HR, 2B. Live shot of Dombrowski: ![](https://media.giphy.com/media/srTYyZ1BjBtGU/giphy.gif) JetBlue has a 9 am direct flight from Boston to Seattle which would get Benintendi there a little after 12 pm PST tomorrow. Get him on that flight and in a Red Sox uniform tomorrow night, Dombroski. Only half-kidding. What if they said yes but only if you pay for the flight?
