Yeah I would tell Betts to stay put until he learns how to read a pitchers delivery. I think that might be recency bias. He's 17/20 for steals and one of the best baserunners in baseball. 17/20 is low considering his speed and the amount of times he has gotten on first base this season. If you compared to all the other leaders in steals it indicates stealing is not really his thing. He'll be good at many other things just not that.

Lest we forget: 1. With this team and batting second, he has a lot more opportunities for DP. In double play situations league average is hitting into them 11% of the time, Pedroia is at 20%, 7th worst rate in MLB behind Yunel Escobar, Andrelton Simmons, Jose Bautista, J.J. Hardy, Billy Butler, and Elvis Andrus. It doesnt help that he is so slow as well. Last night when he scored on Bogaerts double he was rounding third base at the same time Trout picked the ball off the wall and I thought he was gonna get thrown out.

Why no talk of seeing what Light and Martin can do in the majors? We need another RP tho regardless. Prefer a lefty. Get buch off the team put Kellys in his spot. Kelly has big potential in the pen. We no he can crank it with the best of them has legit off speed stuff. He may end up a good CL one day but for now I'll settle for a good setup man if he can command his stuff and miss bats like I believe he can he could be the second half surprise we need. Light got two shots this year to show what he can do and he didnt make anything of them i'll leave it at that!

Only one or two innings left with this terrible pitcher in the game. Time to cash in before its too late!

OK, got two back but could've been more. Some tightness at the plate. Need to losen up and drive fellas. Seriously there is some tightness in the dugout. How could JF and the other coaches not even make any kind of expression or even shake their heads when mookie does something like that? I watch baseball all the time and managers always get pissed when someone screws something up.

I'm not against getting rid of Farrell - he's not a good manager. I'm against the knee-jerk reaction that every loss the Red Sox take is strictly because of Farrell. As in if the Red Sox win, the players are great. If the Red Sox lose it's Farrell's fault. Sometimes the players (it's a shocker, I know) are actually responsible for losing. I was at the game, along with thousands of Sox fans. The consensus among fans in my area was that Price was pretty awesome, Ace-like, but the Angels were hitting them where they ain't, while the Sox did the exact opposite. Everyone within my hearing range was surprised and perturbed that Price, with a marginal pitch count, and a beat up bullpen on a merciless road trip, didn't come out for the 9th for a complete game shutout. Moans and comments like wtf and we're screwed quietly filled the air. We had no benefit of TV or radio comments but had to assume, despite his looking strong in the 8th from where we sat, that he was hurt or had tired. Can someone please tell me why JF didn't let Price finish the job? I guess that if JF left Price in and they lost JF would be to blame, Especially due to the high pitch count. If the closer blows it he is to blame.

I think Leon should have taken his foot off of the plate and make the catch and just accepted the 1-1 tie at that point. There was a good chance for another double play ball to take it to extra innings.

If the padres can get rid of Shields, Pomeranz, Rodney and Cashner the Red Sox are definately getting offers for Buchholz and Kelley.

Relievers are the most overrated, overinflated market bubble in baseball history. I'm not even exaggerating. This one set them up for a double play though right?

Kelley might stay with the big league club if we can get rid of Clay. I wish we can get a young pitching prospect for buchholz. Maybe another systems pitcher will work out better who knows.

Why Leyland? The guy is so old. Doesnt he drink coffee all day and smoke ciggarettes. The sox do not need anybody to win them games. Just time for John to leave. See Jack McKeon in 03 age 72, how do like those beans? But he had Josh Beckett! He had the second best post season performance by a pitcher in the past 15 years.

Why does everybody like sale so much? Everywhere I go I hear this guys name being thrown around! What has he ever won? This guy has never even been in a big game. He's great in games that dont matter, Never pitched in october. Dont even want this child around this red sox team he causes too many problems it doesnt matter who the GM or the Manager is.

I kind of like what the padres are doing by acquiring good young pitching. Anyone know if Chris Paddack is any good? He is Anderson Espinoza's teammate in Fort Wayne he was acquired in the Fernando Rodney trade from the Marlins. The kid is putting up numbers like i've never seen before. Nine games started six of them have been scoreless and two with one run, and one two run game.
