What's the actual reason for E-Rod throwing so many fastballs? Almost exclusively. Because he is not very good. Both pitchers are getting crushed actually.

What really makes me mad is that Tazawa is saying himself that he is overused and fatigued. Even like a over a month ago when they kept warming him up and not putting him in the game he let the media and the people know that was causing fatigue.

The more I think about this trade... does anyone else think Dombrowski thinks he sees a little bit of Scherzer in Pomeranz? I mean its not a perfect comp, but two lefties that have breakout seasons at age 27. I'm glad nobody was around me when I read AE was part of the deal, and I do think it's a bit of an overpay, which is pretty crazy considering we traded an 18yo in A-ball straight up for a guy that just pitched in the all-star game. The deal is pretty much just a swap of risks that only time will tell who took the better gamble. I'm worried about the innings workload but hopefully the performance is sustainable and we just landed ourselves a bigger, not quite as dominating (less overpowering/control, more finesse/groundballs) Scherzer with two blue eyes. I think i see a little bit of scherzer in your avatar. #heterochromia iridium

So, Brian Johnson looked pretty good tonight He should dominate that level right? The guy went 10-2 with a 1.75 ERA in 20 starts in Double-A Two years ago.

I think he should slow down with the baserunning/stealing while he is in the minors, what else does he have to prove?

Why get excited for this if he is gonna get traded for a reliever in December. Come on, Im sure that this signing and Kopechs hot start was the reason Dave pulled the trigger on the espinoza trade.

Now are we supposed to root for success or failure for Anderson from here on out?

He's just as good of a prospect as JoFer was and more advanced in terms of where he's pitching. He will be up next year if not September this year. The guy is a lock solid Ace. And DD traded THAT for this scrub! Pomeranz is an absolute SCRUB of the highest order. I'm telling you he's at Porcello's level. Would you trade a future ace for Rick Flipping Porcello?!!! Hell no. You're a little angry right now. Do you want to sing a song?... Do you know "I feel pretty"?

Now I really wonder how much of kopech's recent success has factored into the red sox pulling the trigger with Espinoza.

In all seriousness his girl is probably like " So when are you like gonna pitch for the real Red Sox"? He probably feels the pressure from her she probably wants to be known for dating a Major leaguer not a minor league babeball player in the red sox system. Thats why he has been lights out to start the season.

I wonder if there was any contact on that 105 mph heater. Or if it was a strike or not even close.

Keith Law's midseason ranks are up for insider and Kopech came in at 45 (following benintendi 3, moncada 5, devers 7, espinoza 14).... thats a heck of a jump for a guy who was on this sites mind, but none of the preseason lists. Wait. So anderson moved up this season? At least in keith laws rankings?

I dont care what anyone says, I watched that video where he struck out the side and he definately hit a buck on some of those pitches. The ball was in the mit as soon as he released it. So you can pick up the difference between a 97 and a 100 mph pitch with a naked eye? Impressive. Who needs a radar then, from now on we'll let you tell us the velocities! Probably, but im certain that people that have been around pro baseball for a long time can, like pitching coaches and managers, scouts and stuff.

I asked him over email and he confirmed he was referring to the stadium gun. Ask him if any other pitchers were getting higher radar gun readings. Unless your here with us you can share with us alex.

The radar gun that Speier referenced is the stadium radar gun. I dont care what anyone says, I watched that video where he struck out the side and he definately hit a buck on some of those pitches. The ball was in the mit as soon as he released it.

Anybody else have the pleasure of catching one of our fearless leaders on 98.5 The SportsHub tonight? Driving along and I hear an intelligent voice talking about Mookie's ascent through the minors and the value of Benny/Moncada...Is this a regular thing Hatfield? Hahaha me too. I was tuning into the station and recognized his voice right away. Great stuff. I think when ever joe murray is hosting the the show he likes to get chris hatfield on, he is a big fan of the site i believe, I am not sure if adam jones has ever had him on.

I dont want Tanner Roark on the red sox because its so frustrating for me to try to say his name. Almost blood boiling.
