The funny (or sad) thing about the Orioles is that they weren't actually trying to tank this year as evidenced by the Alex Cobb signing. Yep. Unlike the 2003 Tigers and the 2013 Astros (probably the worst two teams of my time), they were actively trying to put a winning team on the field and ended up with a team that might be worse than either. There are so many things wrong with the Orioles one hardly knows where to begin or how to prioritize. They have talent, they have spent but the team remains dysfunctional. On a secondary note, i don't follow the narrative that baseball is in decline. Guilt tripping and raw meat for punditry I buy. Horrible televised production coverage I buy. The game has stood the test of time and will continue to do so. The only other "sport" that has growing leagues for Seniors is baseball/softball. Eventually we all want to "feel" young again and baseball allows for this. I have played with scores of seniors who never played any organized baseball in their youth but find golf uninspiring, basketball and football too dangerous. They play senior baseball/softball for the camaraderie.

The forecast is for a monsoon and they might play none of these games. Can confirm arks are required currently and for the foreseeable future. Duck boats

Keep in mind, this Juggernaut offense scored ONE run in 18 innings against the Detroit Tigers. Also, while bullpen help is topical, what is needed (IMHO) is a hard throwing RHSP. Dombroski whiffed on Harvey. Wheeler could be had cheaply, Fiers has grit. If Wright does not come back "in form" we could very well be a paper tiger. Best record in MLB notwithstanding.

Interesting game. Microcosm of how the game has changed. Congratulations to the hometown boy winning the HRD.

Well, we won... kinda'. Although from my perspective this one was "given" to us. No matter. I will, however be curious as to the "tone" of the remainder of the series. Whilst I enjoy well played baseball I wouldn't mind if the Jays imploded this week end. No Encarnacion and Donaldson could very well lead to that implosion. And as to the Price versus Happ controversy.... the winner is Mookie Betts. ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

Careful, fellas... making wise cracks about hefty body types ruffles some feathers in these parts. I was admonished for joking about Sabathia during the last MFY series. Sabathia and Bartolo Calzone are beautiful as they are! No names Just beat the fatman.

Price is what he is. As of today he is a grossly overpaid #3 starter. The contract limits the clubs flexibility. Not Price's fault. Depending on the match up Price could be the fourth, not third starter in several cases. The excuses to explain his bad outings are about as simplistic as the gushing praise for his good performances. It is ALL about match ups. Catching teams when they have hot hitters and when their bats are struggling. Good hitting teams that hit lefties will get good swings off Price. Period. He is ours, he will start and we will live with the results.
And to the Poster who mentioned Lester.... I would have vastly preferred Lester on the roster to Price. Sale is what most people thought Price was going to perform like.
