Even with a 3 run lead, Kimbrel still makes it interesting. I recall at least one game in which papelbon walks 3 to load them, then get 3 SO. He didn't look concerned at all, so I suspect it was all for drama. Was this in his walk year?

I suppose this is like a rehab stint for Koji?

1 more run to meet the Beckett standard of 12 runs and air tight defense, he'll handle the rest. Porcello should get a rest too.

Dubon had a very good year. It looks like he has moved up the ladder in the organization. I do not think that DDo would trade him away for beltran. I think that he is in the mix with hernandez for the best ss in the minors. Devin seems to have fallen because of his bat. Dubon also appears more willing to play 3rd, ss, and 2nd where I do not get a strong feel that hernandez would/ wants to. I suppose any prospect would find it in them to do the right thing when the choice is between playing their favorite position in AAA or a different position in the MLB

Dubon's line A+.306/.387/.379 (235 AB) AA .339/.371/.538 (251 AB)
Top qualifiers CAR and EST A+ .275/.359/.433 Gleyber Torres (356 AB) AA .335/.374/.485 Phillip Evans (361 AB) Dubon's beats the best A+ SS by a wide margin, and is also better than the best CAR/Eastern SS

The Yanks would have to give up a lot more than Beltran for Dubon. It is travesty that Dubon is not a post-season all-star.

arguably the best Koji has looked all year Uehara is not what he used to be. It took him 13 pitches to get through that inning. Koji didn't want to ask for the senior citizen discount.

Back in July, in one series, the other team threw mostly breaking balls to Moncada, who had a real hard time with it. I don't know who thought he was ready for a call up.

any word on whether Groome will pitch in one of the games? It would seem that Pennington deserves the start, would he be put in from the pen in a high leverage situation?

It's probably all Porcello can manage just to keep from collapsing with laughter. I just hope he gives up a hit pretty soon. I don't want Porcello's appropriate workload tonight altered by some "special circumstance." Be prepared to be disappointed, just in case

You simply cannot expect to win many games scoring 2.3 runs per game. Especially against a bad team. What? It's 2.3 runs per inning? PER INNING? That's OK, then. Don't forget the airtight defense too!

I don't get the A's. They have no farm either? Terrible team all around. Bean is overrated. I know he got bumped up. Thank god he never came here. Beanie does pretty good with the money he's got to work with. Try subtracting 100m from our roster.

Some pitchers must really fight for win #20. Porcello needs to stay awake.

Chatham hard contact, lo to left, deep fly to left Center warning track. Groome pitching in 3rd! Now done, 2 outs, 1 bb. Still looked good. Foul ball bounced off roof, almost struck Groome's aunt. 1 run charged to Groome.

2nd inning, go, fo, bb, er, go. Faced 3 rhb, 2 lhb. Probably done. Pretty good for hs facing college players.

Groome is listed as starting pitcher, presumably 2nd game opposite Sodders. Groome signing autographs prior to stretching. Has good frame. Thick arms
