I like tomorrow's match up, buch vs. Jimenez There could always be the screw-your-former-organization motivation for ERod tonight. Andrew miller for erod was fair trade, not our fault balt did not resign Miller

Kluber has 5 games giving up 5 R (not just ER) or more, taking the L on all, and 4 games giving up 4 R, taking a W on 1 and L on 3 Porcello has 3 games giving up 5 R (but no games of more than 5), W one, ND one and L one and 4 games giving 4 R, W on 2, ND on 2. so true that Porcello has had luck on the lesser games, but on a good team, having fewer bad games is preferable. Still, how come we didn't trade some WAR1-2 player to SD for Kluber?

TBH, I am a bit concerned about tonight. E-Rod and Pomz haven't looked good. I actually have more confidence in Buchholz at this point. Can we throw a "bullpen day" on Pomz' next start? Even if E-Rod gives up 5 or 6 runs tonight, hopefully he can give us 5 or 6 IP. I have concerns too, but I think we should let E-Rod and Pom start, but only pitch until they show signs of trouble, so kind of like a bullpen game, where each pitches but get substituted out on trouble. If we win tonight or tomorrow, I would even like to defer Price until Tue against MFY. or perhaps have Price pitch Sat against Tampa, then 5 starts later against Toronto on Fri, Porcello may or may not pitch Sun against Tampa, then the Sat game against Toronto. Of course, if we can lock up the division + home field, before, then bull pen Toronto

Life has not been fair to Trout in the MVP awards, he must console himself with his current 144M contract and probably another 300M after that. But following the pattern of the MVP going to one of the best players on a contending team, Mookie it is!

I suppose we could ask the mods to move all this to the Price/Porcello Cy Young thread. Let have the hammer, nail and coffin ready for the O's division hopes. oh yeah, playoffs are made with wins, not advanced stats Trout was tops in bWAR 2012-15 + this year, and only got 1 MVP,

Mediocre pitchers have trouble 3rd tone around the lineup. Porcello is a lawnmower going through grass.

It looked like Shaw did barely nick his jersey. Probably not enough to see to overturn. Not sure if anyone noticed, but when the IF'ers line up to shake hands with the OF'ers after the game, I saw Marco Hernandez turn around to ask Shaw something, Shaw sheepishly shook his head to say "No". No way Shaw tagged him. Also, did anyone see a side view on Papi's home run. Looked as if Bragg had a shot to catch it but pulled up at the wall. It could be the referee really had to go pee, in which, he's out!

Porcello has a decent shot. Its a shame that Price is just barely outside the short list for cy young. Same as pedy being just outside the short list for mvp.

It was already obvious in Portland that he needed to work on breaking balls. Calling him up was pointless.
