Unless we sign Rich Hill I agree that we need to keep Clay. Then again with Hill's injury issues we would still need Clay. I think rich has raised his stock beyond our plan b budget, but I am still happy for rich.

So if Toronto beats mfy tonight, lose 2 to balt, we will clinch the division, then rest our starters against tor, tor should wrap up the wc, balt has a good chance for the second wc. Good plan.

Papi is worth no more than any other player with a WS .455/.576/.795 line. I'm sure someone can look up comps

Train wreck Shaw is war 2.6 making mlb min. EE is war 3.8 making 10m this year, will probably cost 15m next year, a lot for +1.5 war. if we are going to spend money, I would rather replace a war 0 player with a war 4.

The yanks probably cannot help us with a win against Toronto tonight given their weak pen, so we may as well crush them in games 1 and 2,

I think Price will pitch tune on 5 days rest, allowing him to potentially pitch the last game against Toronto. But not if we hav clinched. If both price and Porcello pitch against mfy, and we clinch, the both can rest for the playoffs. of course, mlb lists price for both game 1 and 2, price is such a work horse

Considering that our AAA pitchers need more time, Clay is more valuable to us than someone else. I would keep him, possibly through 2018, then see what's available as free agents

This time next year, Price, Porcello and Bucholz will be in a 3-way tie for CY. Sorry deepJohn, I don't see Kopech in this group yet.

Can we get the second option changed to: no, but the team is not garbage? Would few more people change their vote to no?

We should just do a bullpen game tomorrow, let Pomeranz skip a turn, then see if he still has gas in one of the games against mfy, oh yeah, we should root for them when they play BJ. Or have Pom pitch just 1 inning to get use to RP.

If Kluber were on a bad team, then I would say the lower number of wins than Porcello should not be held against him, but Indians have about the same record so in the case of Kluber vs Porcello, pitching to wins is the overriding stat (I would also accept team wins over pitcher credited with win)

Once he's fully recovered from his knee injury, I'm sure he'll show his dance moves. You're right sir! I forgot about the knee. Mark Madsen says Beni dances just fine

Let's not get too cocky now. This game has a long way to go yet, and with the Sox out quickly in the 7th and the bottom of the lineup not all THAT threatening, 5 might be all we get, so we'd better defend this lead. Buch is on the mound, we can go sleep early and have faith the lead is safe.

This is what heaven must feel like. Easily one of the most fun seasons I've had the pleasure of watching in my young life. And yet,it's probably not enough to silence the fire Farrell crowd.

Porcello's advice to Buch, trust the run support, it's coming (almost always, except that one time)
