Kevin is based in LA. A lot of the NBA media is as well. Their followers are mostly wishcasting against the Celtics.

How on earth does it feel like we are underdogs in this series? Huh? It doesn’t feel that way at all. A Celtics 7 game series win would probably even underwhelm some observers.

I think if we win the Finals, it will most likely be due to Tatum having a solid series. Its possible Brown is very clutch again and plays at the top of his game but when Tatum doesn’t play well its usually due to poor three point shooting. If Tatum does that consistently I think we’ll lose. Did Tatum not play well last night? jmei basically answered this for me, but Brown was very clutch last series and Tatum took just a few too many threes. I think if Tatum replicates his performance last series, we will win and he will be Finals MVP unless Brown comes up huge again. I am not expecting Brown to have two straight series where he executes in crunch time so well. It’s a possibility but I think its more likely it will come down to Tatum playing well.

Pacers choked away 3 games lol Funny people always talked about the other team losing versus the team that won. What you saw is a team that’s learned how to win and an inexperienced one that hasn’t. They did have a 3 pt lead and the ball with ten seconds left and a time out in game 1, lol

We won a game in which our bench was pretty much completely useless. Wow.

That Tatum 3 sucked.

Would be really nice if the Pacers decide to quit again like they did in game 2.

I’m starting to worry about Porzingis even being ready for the Finals. All the reports seem to indicate he will be though.

The Hauser minutes have been bad for almost the whole postseason.
I hope with Porzingis (and maybe Kornet) coming back they can cut down his minutes at least.

Zero turnovers from Tatum too. Thats wild to go with a near triple double.

We also may not have Jrue… hopefully we do.

The game announcers mentioned that Mazzula told them them he had no idea where that game 4 comment came from. He said KP has not yet been practicing with the team, only working out by himself. I don't know if that is a smokescreen or not, but it's sounding more like we may not see him this series. Hopefully I have read that wrong. Whoops, I lost your quote. It was your comment about when is KP coming back. Woj reported it, he is the gold standard for NBA reporting. Shams also seemed to indicate Porzingis is very close to a return and even if the C’s are up 3-0 they may want him to get a little clock in game 4 even if its very short.

Btw my view is that Tatum is a superstar. He has been literally the most valuable player of the post season and is the best player on the best team. He also adds a lot of value defensively and as a distributor and rebounder. The complete package is a player that, at a minimum is the tenth best player in the NBA and I have him somewhere around number six.
I also think its a reasonable question whether he is one, because he isn’t clutch and has too many nights where he shoots like 1-8 from three. If he fixed that one issue it’d be a lot clearer.

Wow Brissett was quietly +18? Hopefully we see more of him and less Hauser.

I feel like we split the next two games and there is an interesting decision to make on Porzingis’ potential return for game four.
Hopefully we go 3-0 but the Pacers looked scary last night and Im not expecting it.

Hauser has been a big defensive liability the last few games.

Im curious why folks think the Pacers will be easy. They seem relatively healthy and gave us issues in the regular season.
I think we’ll win and kinda have a hard time seeing the Pacers beat us 4 of 7 but I can definitely seem winning a few.

The Nuggets coach really sat on his timeouts during that big Timberwolves run. As a fan im wondering what Im missing because it seems like great coaches take quick timeouts and the bad ones don’t. Seems like coaching 101 to me. Im kind of confused why that was but it seems like the green teamers pretty much unanimously considered Denver the toughest possible opponent for the C’s. The studies and numbers show time outs don’t break runs. I’m with you mentally, but that’s what the studies show. I want the timeouts so it’s hard for me wrap my head around. Huh. That doesn’t make any sense to me. You can sub out players, discuss what isn’t working and run a new play out of a timeout. Plus the players get a bit of a break and slow it down which is good when the other team is getting a lot of fast breaks or shooting hot. I get the idea of saving some time outs for the end for the court advancement and play calling but it seems like you only need to save two for that and three is maybe a bit excessive.

Pacers and Knicks beating each other up - series will go 7. More rest for us. The ECF is starting Tuesday no matter who wins this game. The Nuggets losing last night already determined that. He mightve meant more rest compared to the other team.

Woj reporting Porzingis expected out games 1 and 2 of the ECF.
Sounds like they hope he’ll come back mid series.

Rjp my friend, THIS is a superstar game by Tatum. Great offense, but he’s so much more than a scorer. Terrific defense, stout rebounding, smart reads. Probably his best game in this postseason thus far, his defense really killed the game for good. He even hit a pull up three, lol

Is Tatum better than the last year or two? He is very good obviously but it seems like he makes the same mistakes.
Brown, yeah I would agree he is getting better.
