Even against their better defenders (DJJ), Brown blows by him with ease. No defensive scheme in the world can solve that. It truly feels like the Mavs only hope is for Boston to tense up and press up shots, because their defense is getting smoked 1-5. |

Luka was awesome and Celtics only made 3 3 pointers, Got to think luka cools off a bit and gets tired and some 3s start falling. The Mavs also had a lot of TOs, missed FTs and wide open 3s that didn’t go in. The Celtics need to be more disciplined on offense, too many doubles. Resist the urge! |

I’m not convinced that Kidd is some amazing coach. They were good this year but he was on the hot seat one year ago and has never been reputed to be some sort of tactical genius. I think he’s fine but I think the coaching matchup is not the huge Dallas advantage that some pundits seem to think, and game 1 was a great illustration of that. Now Doncic is questionable even though we all know he will play. It’s not even Game 2 yet and Kidd is already trying every mind trick he can think of. Probably not a good sign for a coach to be that desperate that early. |

So, looking ahead to game 2, I checked the Mavs game 2 against the Clippers. They won that game with defense. Their offense still wasn't too hot, they just clamped down on everything the Clips did on offense. Against OKC they did with PJ Washington going insane.
Doncic had, on average, the scoring game he had against us tonight. Keep forcing him to score and take away his assists.

While Tatum did some very good things, it's okay to admit he didn't have a good game by his standards. That's what 6-16 with 6 TOs is. His tentative defense is what told me he wasn’t very comfortable out there. We need 3 more wins, he needs to be his average self for 2 more games and we got this. |

Al ended with 29 minutes and The Porzingod had 20. Beautiful game plan. Boston didn’t have anyone to flat out EXPLODE, it was a solid game. Doncic balled and Kyrie underperformed, but overall it was about what you could expect from the Mavs. You could expect the Celtics to be even better. I’m feeling it!

Love seeing the Playoff Kyrie we know and hate. Keep it up, Joe, rent is free in his head! I haven’t checked the box score to check everything, but Kyrie was ATROCIOUS in this game. Missed open looks, forced shots, dribbled out of his foot, got blocked like a goddamn idiot, defended absolutely no one. The Garden got this one over him. |
