sure is quiet in here......calm before the storm? I think most people are trying to get their work done early. This has been a really fun year.

There is something truly majestic about the walk-off home run-- watching the guys stream out of the dugout and the fist raised as the ball leaves the ballpark and the crowd roars.

These are the scheduled pitchers for this series: 1. Lester 2. Lackey 3. Buchholz 4. Peavy
Two starters left out: 5. Doubront 6. Dempster
Each Starter's Split's vs. the Rays this year: 1. Lester - 4 starts, 2-1, 4.32 ERA 2. Lackey - 2 starts, 0-1, 8.10 ERA 3. Buchholz - 2 Starts, 2-0, 0.00 ERA 4. Peavy - 2 Starts, 1-0, 4.26 ERA 5. Doubront - 4 starts, 0-2, 2.55 ERA 6. Dempster - 3 starts, 0-1, 2.50 ERA
2 of the 3 starters with the lowest ERA against the Rays are gonna be in the bullpen.
Anyone's thoughts on these splits?

2 to 4 starts. Meaningless.

8 righty/switch hitters in the Rays' lineup. Lester needs to be able to get that outside corner called strike. Off to a good start so far-- hitting 96 on the TBS gun.

Three swinging strikesouts on three nasty cutters. 92 and in under the hands of these righties. Just dominance so far.

97 last 2 batters what I saw JMEI and he hasn't "sat" there for 2 years. Wonder how long he can go today if he's using this much effort early?
Edit:
Not on Boston, But Alex Cole hit 100mph 2 times after pitch 75 today. Isn't it grand he told NY to take a hike after they took him #1 back in 2008? He has been dominant vs St Louie today.

Lester strikes out the side in the 1st. Throwing about 97 on average. Usually sits 90-94. Cutter looks sharp not that it should surprise anyone.

Victorino tried to lean into the 0-2 pitch and did lean into the 1-2 pitch. Who says HBP isn't a skill?

Moore is throwing a lot of pitches. Keep an eye on it for later.

Lester already has more swings and misses than Price did in the play-in game.
EDIT: and now as many strikeouts.

first of all, Lester is throwing CHEEEEESE.
Secondly, go Pirates (feel-good story, and longer series = more fun)
third, if you're at a computer, but have cable at home, you can watch at TBS.com, LEGALLY
and lastly, $H!T

Are you goddamn kidding me? Chris Guccione should be ashamed of himself. That was a ****ing awful call on the 2-2 pitch.

Lester needs to keep his head in the game. Yes, that 2-2 pitch to Rodriquez could have been strike 3, but the home plate umpire didn't serve that 3-2 pitch on a platter to him.

Can't let umpire errors get under his skin. Made a bad 3-2 pitch, which is 100% his own fault. He needs to come back out and get back to dominating.

Sox better come to life here. Have no idea why Stephen Drew is in the game against a lefty. I mean, he's a veteran, so hey, that makes all the difference, right?
