So is this going to be another case of Farrell leaving a pitcher in one batter (or two) too long, or did he learn from last year?

Xander seems a little anxious, he had a really nice approach to start the season, the only thing that wasn't going well was his baseball card stats, he has started to chase more and get away from his plan at the plate, which I think is due to lack of numbers.
Each of the last two seasons he has started slowly in the power department, I think as the weather heats up, so will Bogey.

It's getting increasingly frustrating that we haven't lit up this JAG.

Well, tonight at least he is showing a weakness for the pitch outside...whether slider or fastball. The second at-bat man he swung at two fastballs well off the plate. Bradley seems to be handling the inside pitch better. It appears to me that pitchers are throwing him outside/inside. Perhaps they feel by having better coverage on the inside part, he might be a bit more vulnerable on the far corner.

Somebody's got to get a big hit (2b) followed by someone getting an rbi single. Right now that appears to be asking too much.
Another weakness of the '14 RS is pr if they managed to get someone on. First to third on a single seems unlikely.

And there goes the offense.
Great hustle rewarded with a busted finger.

DL Nap, Carp at 1B, bring back Shane on Friday followed by WMB soon.

The outfield crunch, trade Carp, and send Nava down talk can all end. Napoli will be out for awhile.

Man, another starter to the DL?
What happens on such injuries. A DL visit or do these guys find a way to play through something like that. That finger looks broken to my uneducated eye.

Now the best hitter of this team got injured. Season over?

We're definitely NOT in 2013 anymore. Napoli gets rewarded for great baserunning with what might be a broken finger.
At least that ends the silly Carp/Nava how will we fit them all on the roster non-sense.
Of course, the guy who will get the bulk of the playing time at 1b, taps out weakly on the first pitch - back to the pitcher with two runners on during a night the Sox need a clutch hit - something that has eluded them most of the young 2014 season.
How aggravating. I hope if the game goes extras that Pedroia doesn't hurt himself worse.

That four-pitch walk had three strikes in it. Blame Pierzynski's bad framing (and the one pitch he just dropped) and this terrible umpiring.

What a crock of BS. That's the year in a nutshell.
ADD: Terrible scoop attempt from Carp, by the way. He flinched like a little leaguer trying to get out of the way of the ball. Obviously a bad throw from Bogaerts, but even an average first base defender would have bailed him out.

Bad throw, but HAVE to dig that ball at first.

Bogaerts botched that play for sure, but any 1B worth a half a **** needs to catch that. I'm about done with Carp. He's a butcher at any position on the field.

This season sucks in so many ways. So thankful for the 2013 World Series Championship. They can suck all they want this year and while I'll be mildly annoyed, it won't bother me as much as it would have if they hadn't won.

This is starting to get really bad with the injuries. I'm kind of amazed how bad of a start this team is off to though. Oh well. At least we haven't lost anyone for the season.

I have seen much harder throws handled easily by first basemen. Carp deserves a ton of blame on that play. The guy at first needs to backup the short stop on that type of play.

I'm actually eager to see how he fares in an extended look. The sad thing is that he may be our #4 or #5 hitter w/ Napoli DL'd.

Going for a top 5 pick is starting to look pretty good. Blow it up. Big Papi your achilies bother you. Pedroia you are out for the year, fix your wrist. Napoli you have a busted finger stay away for the year.

Bad play on both ends. I hope the hole they have to climb out of when April ends isn't too deep.
