Somewhat of a reminder from, of all things, the ProJo chat with their beat writers today:
Brian MacPherson: You'd hope a team that team that ranks fifth in the American League in OPS with the bases empty and 13th in OPS with RISP would see that even out. But last year Texas ranked fourth in the AL in OPS with the bases empty and 13th with RISP, St. Louis was the opposite; 14th in the NL in OPS with the bases empty and first with RISP. Sometimes even an entire season isn't long enough to see things like that even out.
RISP I DO HATE THEE ANON!

Pedroia 2B, Bogaerts SS, Ortiz DH, Gomes RF, Sizemore LF, Pierzynski C, Nava 1B, Roberts 3B, Bradley Jr. CF
Is something wrong with Sizemore's arm or why do the Sox prefer Gomes/Nava/anyone in RF?

Yeah, it's just that Sizemore has a bad arm.

Has to feel good for Bogey.
Finally a 1st inning run.

The throw from Buchholz that Nava just let go was a lot easier to catch than the throw from Bogaerts that Carp couldn't get yesterday...

I think Nava has really outlived his usefulness. The guy just can't field. Put Big Papi at 1B over him.

Can't wait until Middlebrrooks and Victorino return to the lineup and guys like Gomes and Roberts either return to the bench or get a one way ticket out of town.

Just brutal. Meanwhile Buchholz gets to throw more pitches. Outstanding.

I think Nava has really outlived his usefulness. The guy just can't field. Put Big Papi at 1B over him. He's serviceable in the outfield. Still below average, but not a butcher. He's not a 1B. I'm starting to seriously think that this team would be better off asking Ortiz to take first base for a couple of weeks. Obviously I don't know if he's healthy and mobile enough to do that, but I don't remember Papi ever being this bad.

It's painful to watch. John Henry may not watch Red sox, instead he goes to England to watch Liverpool FC.

Another botched catch for Nava but what was Tatman doing throwing to 1st base anyway? He could have had the lead runner there.

That was absolutely brutal defense that inning. Roberts throw was a joke, Nava being unable to handle a simple pick off was terrible. Napoli/Middlebrooks/Victorino are sorely needed right now. Buchholz threw a few fastballs with some zip though, so at least that's something.

I'm gonna switch to the ChiSox broadcast... not interested in stats how someone hit with 2 outs and RISP in a 15-game sample, and definitely not interested in Don's opinion on movies.

Even though their defense has some holes offense is fantastic.

Bradley's offense has been sliding backwards for a little bit now. His defense is still transformative, but he still swings and misses too much for a guy who doesn't hit for much power.

Why not Ross against lefty? Ross will almost certainly start tomorrow with Lester on the mound against Sale (another lefty).
