Hope that Webb get wild pitch and brought home the runner. We need to win the game.

come on...they lose the golden opportunity with runners on 1st and 2nd with Bogearts getting the 3-0 count and cannot score.

I'm wearing a rally cap for GL. Got to happen now or I pack it in.

If they don't score here it will be somewhat disappointing.

Oh come on. Give him that strike.
EDIT: Thank god. That was... a grind? Bad game-good result? A relief? A victory?!

The only thing worse than Red Sox offense tonight is the home plate ump.

Glad we won this one. Losing would have sucked.

Something to really appreciate: the effectiveness of our three lefty relievers. Capuano has been a clutch contributor so far, playing a far bigger role from the pen so far than I think we'd anticipated. Breslow's been spotting well in his first few games despite some concerning low velocity, and Miller is an asset so long as he's in the vicinity of the plate.

The Sox put 21 people on base, Chicago only 14. That's also the same ratio as the final score: 6 to 4. So they deserved to win.

You can't help but think back to losing the game in 2012 where Chris Davis pitched for the O's. Maybe this will help turn things around.
Looks like they went 3/17, 5 BB (1 IBB), 2B, 3 SF, GDP with RISP. And 1/20, 2B, 7 BB, HBP with the bases empty, 2/7, 3 BB, HBP with a runner on 1B.
.136 / .359 / .182 overall .176 / .320 / .235 RISP .208 / .389 / .250 runners on * .050 / .321 / .100 bases empty
So despite the appearances, a reverse of the season-long trend (and very obviously ditto for the low walk rate). They hit like crap with RISP because they hit like crap, period.
* Players over the course of a career have significant bases empty / runners on splits, but not significant man on 1B / RISP splits. IOW, RISP hitting per se is luck, but runners on hitting isn't always just luck. This makes sense when you figure that there is a default approach with the bases empty, and that any man on is going to change that approach, RISP or not.

Based on his splits, I'm absolutely convinced that they signed Capuano for exactly this role, and not as a 6th starter (except for emergency spot starts when no one is disabled): a guy who could match up against lefties, but also be quite effective against righties for once around a lineup, and hence give you 2+ innings regularly. But even I didn't think he'd be quite this good or important. There was never a point where he projected to be a better option, if a SP had to go on the DL, then Workman or X, where X is whoever (else) is pitching best at Pawtucket (of course currently X = Rubby). (If you look at Theo / Ben teams, more often than not they have not had a dedicated long man / spot starter, a guy who was simply the #6 starter, but a guy who could double in that role but also had a primary short / medium one. Of course Workman is another guy that fits that description. IOW, your 6th starter / long man should not merely be your 6th best starter, but a guy who is not one of your 5 best because he has trouble going through an order more than once, and hence is actually a good reliever. Capuano fits that description perfectly.)

We can thank Ventura for that win. Guy used FOUR relievers in the 8th inning.

One would think they might consider bringing a pitcher up to help out for a few days. Britton? Hill? Layne? Wilson?

I take the win.
I think Koji is back today.
I believe WMB can be activated any time after April 19th (he went on the DL April 5 retro to April 4) but we haven't heard on update on his mobility. He'll likely need a few rehab games as well.
