Besides blowing the call , it took over 3 and 1/2 min. to review. Game grinds to a halt and Lackey has to throw a bunch of pitches to stay warm. MLB would be better served junking this system which clearly is still not ensuring that the calls are accurate or helping to move the games along. PS- Bogaerts is not doing much lately to disprove the critics that he can't play shortstop.

Decision to put Bogaerts at regular ss turns out to be totally wrong.

Breaking news from the MASN network: Chris Davis expects this to be a low-scoring game. Chris Davis sucks.

Even Mike Carp could have played that ball better off the wall.

Decision to put Bogaerts at regular ss turns out to be totally wrong. Need to give him some time. To play amateur GM: Many realized that Drew would provide them better defense, and some believed Bogaert would do better at third. Suspect from what the Sox were saying about his defense they knew it, but they have their own calculus adn spread sheets, which seems to be based on a combination of payroll and developing within whenever possible; they had both Bogaert and Will to consider. Thus, they gave the green light to Middlebrooks and Bogaerts. So far, no Will, and as expected Bogaert is no Drew, and while holding his own with the bat, he is not exactly doing a Machado. They also believed they could avoid giving Ellsbury a big contract, as they had Jr. warming up who may actually give them better defense and provide a decent stick. Ellsbury though is a unique offensive threat and seems that some of the Sox are muttering something to that effect. That is water over the dam, but is it Lester's turn to be pushed out? They may have been right with the move. but we may have to wait til mid-season or so to find out. But they perhaps knew that this would be the case and had their grand plan. Theo did the same with Beltre, believing he could be replaced with Youklis, although some questioned Youklis body type and his ability to handle the hot corner after a three years absence. Perhaps you can't always go by formulas that you apply to all player moves, but rather deal with the particular player,- their value and replacements, not always an easy task. Suspect JH is still burnt from the Crawford et al signings.

Great at bat. He was trying to chase Tillman from the game all by himself.

MASN guys think (a) Napoli would have had that and (b) Carp is better OFer than 1B. I think they have 50% of that right.

Lackey has really matured the last few years. In the past this kind of fielding would have sent him on a tirade. Of course he may be destroying the locker room right now.

Refine your defense in the minor league. SS defense is too important. His shaky defense is killing this team. If you're waiting to develop the perfect baseball player, you'll be waiting forever. It's near impossible for a shortstop with a .400 OBP to be killing his team with defense. Call it the Jeter Postulate.

For what it is worth, just wonder if the Sox would have been off long term with him at third and keeping Drew, but they are smarter than me. Also wonder how many improve at short and how much, other than learning position. Just wondering.

Jeter was reliable at least. I know everyone on this site love Bogaerts. But his shaky defense at ss is killing this team. He should be moved to 3B or demoted to Pawtucket.

Bogaerts may well have 20-25 errors but it is his first year and every player has a first year and his is at 21 years old. I think his range isn't much different than Drew's ( maybe a little but the differential isn't huge ). It's not like Drew was scooping up everything. Drew just didn't make many errors. As in around 10 if I remember correctly last year.
I'm all for giving Bogaerts some time. If Middlebrooks was cranking 25 HR a year at 3rd right now we wouldn't be all that worried about the left side. But with what we have had recently, it sticks out like a sore thumb.
