Hey look, the old man's a swinger. SWEET
Dude can still hit lefties. It is the only way he should be used. But I guess stars get their caddies…
Oh, and I am really starting to wonder why this team ever messed with JBJ's stance.

Oh, and I am really starting to wonder why this team ever messed with JBJ's stance. Did the team mess with Bradley's swing or was it Bradley while trying to figure out how to hit the inside pitch?

David Ross: best backup catcher in MLB? I do not know about that. But I think he needs to come back next season regardless of what happens with Lester.

I'd much rather Ross have an OBP higher than .246 than for him to have 6 home runs.

Ask the pitching staff if they care about Ross's .246 OBP

Ask the pitching staff if they care about Ross's .246 OBP I don't care about his hitting at all, but the comments came after the HR.

On watching ventura, I don't know why people say Owens has control issues.

Ventura's packs some heat, and I love the way he pounds the zone, but not much in the of breaking stuff. He its.mp4 a finished product. Looks like he took one for the team, given that they burned through a lot of options over the last two days.

If they're going to trade Lester, he's certainly done just about everything possible to maximize his value for the Sox.
I still hope they sign him, but have to imagine his cost continues to rise

Say what you want about his bat, but that was a hell of a defensive play by Drew. Lester likely doesn't make it out of that inning without that grab.

So, um, what was the point of having Tazawa come in for one batter? #farrell

Did what they had to do vs. the non division lower half teams, now the 10 day stretch that should determine if they have any shot whatsoever this season

Great win!
Now comes reality time. Next 13 games (7 away) against AL East foes while Orioles face a brutal schedule. Sox win 8 or more in that span and it's a race.

With Victorino back, the Sox are probably the healthiest team in baseball. I understand the reasoning to sell. But, that's for teams looking to rebuild. What are we rebuilding? We already have a stocked farm system. Of course, we need a power corner bat. Not going to get one of them selling bit pieces off. The types of players we get for; Gomes and Peavy will have difficulty cracking the 40 next year. Would only deal them for very young players in A ball whom we have control over for a few years and don't have to be put on the 40.

So, um, what was the point of having Tazawa come in for one batter? #farrell He had 1 appearance (1 IP) in 8 days. He had 2 appearances (1.1 IP) in 10 days. He didn't throw yesterday. He has to get some work in - it might as well be in an actual game. There is enough to complain about this year without trying to find things.

So why not have him pitch the entire inning in a 6-run game? I was legitimately asking what the point was (rather than just criticizing Farrell), so feel free to lose the snark.

Alex Speier @alexspeier · 5h Farrell said Mujica couldn't get warm by start of 9th, so Tazawa opened the inning.
