I also wonder (jokingly) if Cherington had any pangs of guilt over how awesome Eduardo Rodriguez has looked so far, such that Ben decided to toss the O's a bone by throwing in a player they tried really hard to keep on their roster this season.
More likely, Almanzar was probably the cost of getting the O's to eat the ~$400k left on Johnson's contract. I'm sure Baltimore will find a way to get him on their 40-man by November 20.

The harder you try to throw, the more your mechanics break down. The harder you pitch, the farther from the spot the balls will go. I just love when people agree using different words as if in a disagreement. The harder you throw, the faster the ball arrives at home plate. Someone once asked Bob Feller, late in his career, why he isn';t throwing as hard as he used to. He replied: "I'm throwing just as hard as ever, it's just taking the ball longer to get there".
