Yankees are playing pretty good baseball. CC, Tanaka, Pineda, and Eovaldi are pitching great if you ignore their ERA, and they have Miller and Bentances in the back of their bullpen. Drew has 4 homers already, A-Rod is hitting like it's 1999, and Chris Young is hotter than Brock Holt. Tex looks to be on track also. I still think they need a lot to go right to compete, but so far they look good.

And they have Joe Girardi, who is willing to bring in one of his two best relievers in a tie game in the 7th with men on. I still think Andrew Miller needs a beard to look good.

Ventura causes another brawl. This time vs the white sox. He needs a lengthy suspension.

VIDEO: Bench-clearer! t.co/nVGgRpoQvs t.co/CSkulA7pvwDays after nearly getting murdered on a baseball diamond by Mike Trout, Royals pitcher Yordano Ventura successfully started a fight after taunting Adam Eaton following the White Sox outfielder’s come-backer. Some haymakers were thrown—a rarity in a baseball brawl—but few landed. As you can tell, though, Hawk enjoyed himself.

Ventura still may be an a-hole but tonight it wasn't him who started it. He quick pitched Eaton, who hit a comebacker to Ventura, on the way to first Eaton starts jawing with him about not liking being quick pitched and things kicked off. But Ventura has been in the in the middle of most of the incidents the Royals have got into so far this season, which are quite a few already.

Holy crap. He learned something
“@mcculloughstar: Yordano Ventura was contrite and apologetic. He took responsibility for sparking the brawl. He said he needs to control his emotions better.”

Andrew Miller is killing it for the Yankees. 18.4 k's per 9. This is actually one case where I really hate that we lost one to the Yucks. I really hope that Eduardo comes through to soften the blow a bit.

This would have been even better if Samardzija had been a linebacker rather than a wide receiver.

Would be quite a shame if Sale and Shark both get suspended over an argument. It's not like it started with a hard slide or a batter getting plunked. That'd be tough on a team that put a lot on the line this year.

Would be quite a shame if Sale and Shark both get suspended over an argument. Suspension lengths for this kind of thing are generally ridiculously low. Anyway from what I saw I don't think Sale gets suspended, maybe a slap on the wrist for Shark. Rodon gets the spot start, strikes out 12 over 7 IP and never leaves the rotation again.

Nate Bukaty @nate_bukaty Was told by a good source that Sale came to the Royals clubhouse in the 8th inning, looking to fight Ventura.

This is a pretty big can of worms to open if they think they're going to be able to void his contract. I doubt the MLBPA will allow it. These are the players the MLBPA care about.

First time I have ever agreed with the hawk If I recall, I think Hawk said something about the Royals manager deserving to get beat if he was trying to do anything with Sale. It came off as completely unnecessary as Yost appeared to be simply keeping Sale out of the action and talking to him, as if to calm him down. It's not like a Team Canada manhandling Aceves level of confrontation. Even if I agree with Hawk he still has a way of making me dislike him.

According to b-ref, Hamilton is owed over $90 million for the next 3 years (minus whatever he's been paid or lost this year). The Angels would probably have to include about $70 million for any team to be interested.

Jeff Passan ?@jeffpassan There's been talk of a PTBNL going back to the Angels for Josh Hamilton. @alden_Gonzalez says Angels aren't getting any players.
Hamilton for 4 (I think) years for 15m and no player back? Why weren't we in on that?

Because he's worse than at least 4 and as many as 7 of the outfielders we already have and has a known drug problem and is in an obvious decline phase?
