Very frustrating ABs by hannigan and Betts. Any contact for the most part scores a run

Buchholz has also stopped fielding. Awful.
I would not be mad if they gave Clay Buccholz spot in the rotation to Steven Wright. This is not a drill.

Curt Schilling thinks Joe Kelly is the ace of this staff. We are doomed.

WTF Clay... he didn't even try to nab that grounder...

Should have pulled him while we still had a chance to win.

Got 3 runs, made it a game...so our "ace" gives it right back.
So pathetic.

Betts is swinging at everything and anything this year. Low and away is a soft spot.

He didn't even swing hard

Curt Schilling thinks Joe Kelly is the ace of this staff. We are doomed. He has by far the best arm.

Jesus, you guys need to go to bed and sleep this one off. Its a loss. Move on to the next game. If it becomes a reoccurring issue with Buchholz this year, fine, lets talk alternatives. I count one beautiful start, and one absolute stinker.

Hanley Ramirez is really crushing the ball.
Buchholz was just plain terrible. With how mediocre tanaka was tonight, the Red Sox should be working on a sweep.

What a shame we didn't get opening day Clay tonight because Tanaka looks like crap.

His team is out there trying to get back in the game and he can't be bothered to back up a base. Sad. Well, we've had good Clay and bad Clay in the first week. What's the over under date for the DL trip?

Positive takeaways from this game: Xander is en fuego, Victorino looking capable defensively, Hanley is crazy strong.

While Clay was bad, when you induce 9 GB, you expect to get more than 3 outs. Without the BABIP luck (and when national TV announcers bring it up, you know the luck has been terrible), that's a 5 IP, 3 ER performance.
And I completely think that the 4th inning mental meltdown was over that. You make a good pitch, you see a ball hit on the ground, you're thinking "that's 1 out, maybe 2," and instead it's a hit.
Not defending the reaction, BTW. Derek Lowe used to do the same thing.

Mookie has hit the ball hard a lot and got nothing for it. He will be fine.

And then Derek Lowe would get Derek Lowe Face, which looks a lot like Peyton Manning face after his second interception of the night. Clay just looked nauseous.

Positive takeaways from this game: Xander is en fuego, Victorino looking capable defensively, Hanley is crazy strong. Another positive takeaway is that Sandy Leon made his professional debut at 3B. An answer to a previous trivial inquiry.
