Don't blame Hanigan. It's hard to play small ball when your balls are that big.

Meanwhile, that bunt I do not like. Giving up an out to move a guy to 3rd who still has enough speed to score from 2nd on a single. Hate it.

Crazy how stagnant our offense has been. Feel like we're due for a rampage soon. Not against Archer. Haha ... someone tell me I'm not the only one who saw this and thought of this:

Still no fastballs. Does Koji still throw a fastball, ever?

Very clutch double play there.
Also Uehara was at 87.5% splitters, 12.% FB coming into today. His 10 pitches today have all been splitters though.

Were winning a lot of games where it has felt like we should be losing. Those make for the best years.

good win, but I gotta say, our plus-6 run differential feels more like how we've played this season than the 9-5 record.

Is it just me, or does miley seem like the kind of guy who with command has the ability to go 8 innings on regular basis? Mookie is slumping, Pedey, papi, and Nap are not THIS bad (Pedey is actually propping up a decent slash line) victo will be gone for rusney and we're being carried by Hanley "guns" ram, and hanigan. Things aren't really falling together except for the bullpen for the most part, and we're still 9-5. Knock on wood. I'm super optimistic especially since many of the homeruns the starters have been giving up are not exactly bombs, homeruntracker proves I'm not biased on that. Can't wait til it warms up.

And our AL East opponents really don't scare me at all. Especially the Rays and Yankees. Orioles are probably the biggest threat.

Very clutch double play there. Also Uehara was at 87.5% splitters, 12.% FB coming into today. His 10 pitches today have all been splitters though. I was at the game tonight. The scoreboard said that Koji threw a FB at 87 with his first pitch (hit for a hard single to deep left) and that all the other pitches were splits at 78-79. It appears that he has less confidence in the FB which he used to somehow get by hitters at 88-90. Damn few pitchers can get by with one pitch. Secondly, somewhere recently I read that the sound coming off Hanley's bat was "different" or louder than others. Tonight he hit a screaming GB through the right side of the infield for a hit and a bullet to center that was caught. Even in the LF stands I could here an extra loud crack on each.

Koji Uehara average splitter velocity (maximum in parens)
2011: 81.3 (87.0) 2012: 81.4 (84.8) 2013: 81.0 (85.0) 2014: 80.1 (83.0) 2015: 78.5 (79.9)
It was already hard enough to believe when Koji was dominant with 89 mph. But 79 mph? I'm worried.

Still no fastballs. Does Koji still throw a fastball, ever? He does. It just doesn't get to the plate as soon as it used to.

This guy throwing for the Rays anyone have a report on him? According to Bradford he still qualifies as a rookie.
Another thing that bugs these dumb news guys is the errors and unearned runs we are getting. Why should we care if that's wha other teams are doing? Also a part of that is they are speeding there throws because we have quick base runners and good base runners. That's what I like to see from Miley nice and fast and well pitched. The Rays have a weak ass lineup. They have good pitching but no hitting in the pipeline. Makes you wonder why give up on that kid they traded to the Padres. Wil Myers?

Dear Ben,
I am deeply grateful for the contributions Mr. Victorino made during the 2013 season. That said, please, please, please make it stop! I just can't watch this sad flailing any more. I know you were hoping for a hot streak to improve trade value, but it's time to suck it up, fill out the DL paperwork, and let JBJ have a crack at RF.
Thanks,

He just watched that pitch sail by right down the middle, no flailing at all. More seriously, there is no need to DL Victorino, he just needs to be platooned with Nava. Furthermore, if JBJ were to become a starter, playing him anywhere except CF would be stupid. Also DINGERZ!
