When you watch this team it becomes apparent just how badly Cherrington has screwed up this team. He gave a huge contract to a lazy injury prone SS to be his LF even though everyone knew he was injury prone. He has rushed players to the majors that he shouldn't have and given up on promising players like Josh Reddick, and Rubby DeLaRosa. I believe the Sox will finnish in last again. Will Cherrington finally be held responsible? Great timing on these comments. You should have stuck your neck out in April on Hanley.

Pete Abraham ?@peteabe 2m2 minutes ago Meanwhile Rusney Castillo is out with a shoulder injury. Hurt it while diving to make a catch. Can hit, not throw.
Tim Britton ?@timbritton 3m3 minutes ago Castillo is out after jarring his right shoulder on his second nice catch in the OF last night. Farrell: "We feel this is minor in nature."

Let's hope so.

Jarred his shoulder on a diving play, can't throw today. I can't say I'm surprised.

Tim Britton ?@timbritton 7m7 minutes ago Source: Eduardo Rodriguez is on his way to the big club. Might just be for a spot start. Nick Cafardo ?@nickcafardo 1m1 minute ago Minneapolis, MN Eduardo Rodriguez starting Thursday in Texas for Red Sox. May be just one turn in rotation. Certainly makes sense that Wright would need an extra day of rest after throwing 69 knuckleballs and 6 fastballs on Saturday.

As I'd passed along after getting the idea from the ProJo guys' podcast, with 20 days without an off day, it's a great time to get Rodriguez up and see what he looks like in a major league setting. The Sox have long been proponents of the "initial call-up" being a quick cup of coffee to get a player experience with what it's like at the level before being asked to take over a full-time role. We've seen them do it as far back as Jacoby Ellsbury. This is a great (and pretty obvious) spot to do that with Rodriguez.

Seeing Rusney in person, it's no wonder the guy gets hurt a lot. He's big, and he plays with complete abandon. The first dive, in particular, is one that a lot of guys just don't even try.

Castillo needs consistent ABs to get going. Really hope he's feeling good tomorrow.
Excited to watch Rodriguez. If he's ready that would be huge.

Might have preferred that they call him up to face a NL team in their park - maybe he can hit

First cheap outfield hit all year for him, I think.

Anyone remember when they would let Mookie run earlier in the year?

Porcello with an 18 inning 1-0 victory today, my prediction.

Porcello with an 18 inning 1-0 victory today, my prediction. I'm thinking he'll have to leave the game after 10 innings with no decision. Thanks to the extra day of rest, Steven Wright will be able to come in in relief in the 16th inning and get the W.

Isn't it great that Swihart made an out and moved the runner over?

Isn't it great that Swihart made an out and moved the runner over? Yeah. Also I love the idea of telling people to at least try and ground out when there's men on base. Why try to drive the ball when you can roll it over to second base and advance the runner the least important 90 feet in the sport?

Sometimes things do even out. Porcello now has a strikeout on a ball and a walk on a strike.

How can the umpire give that to him? That was right down the plate and he's just afraid to swing because he's a horrendous hitter.
Now the floodgates open.

Hasn't this stupid ump ever heard of the gentleman's strike call on 3-0?
