Not squeezing with Castillo on third with one out in the top of the 9th, Sandoval's botched play, Farrell walking Fielder... Its almost like they want the 7th pick in the draft again.

So 51 games in this team has excelled at two things - leaving men on third and gacking up leads. They aren't that good at giving up leads, they rarely have one.

Well that wasn't good.
For the" it's only May people" the next game is in June, when can I worry?

Before the Castillo steal, he broke on a pitch and Pedroia fouled it to the right side. The Texas announcer (MLB package) made the point that Castillo had no idea where the ball was. He said something like, "That's the kind of guy who won't score on an extra-base hit because he'll slide into second." You'll probably recall X getting hit in the foot by a ball up the middle as he slid into second because he had no idea where the ball was on a play a couple of weeks ago. It's an example of these guys repeating a fundamental mistake. HS BB players are told to pick up the ball on the play like that. We've failed to do it twice in about a 10-game span. Except for the fact that, that didn't happen. Way to go making things up as you go though. What are you talking about? The header on the video that someone posted says "Batted ball hits Bogaerts running to second," and he was called out on the play. And what would your point be anyways? That it was ok for him to not pick up the ball because he didn't actually get hit by it? Jeepers.

Tim Britton ?@timbritton 1m1 minute ago Farrell has been burned by not walking Cruz and burned by walking Fielder. Exactly. Fielder is the hottest hitter this month. If he walks it off people will complain that he made the same mistake as the SEA series

Tim Britton ?@timbritton 1m1 minute ago Farrell has been burned by not walking Cruz and burned by walking Fielder. This. Farrell hasn't been great, but he certianly isn't the main problem. Why are so many of you calling for Farrell's head and not Chili Davis'? Isn't it the starting lineup that has gone from pre-season lefty killers to historically bad vs. lefties? I'd be evaluating Chili's job before John Farrell's, JMO.

He made the right move. That was on where betts was playing. You can't let prince fielder score from 1st base how often does that happen

You're making it up as you go along and trying to find any minor nit to CYA. He was starting his slide. Either way, it doesn't matter. The point was that guys should know where the darn ball is. If you don't understand then I ask, I beg, that for the sake of the youth of America you refrain from coaching any youth BB. I'm done with this silly one.

This bullpen is deeply flawed. It does not help that the defense is not what is was made out to be in Spring Training. Fortunately the entire division is weak, which should keep hope alive for 2015, even a false hope.

If John Farrell is the coach tomorrow, I won't watch another game. Shall we wager on this? You have posted ten times in the last 24 hours and half of the posts have been 20 words or less and purely reactionary. Listen to some soft music or take a stroll around the neighborhood.

Farrell absolutely is one of the "main" problems.
The idea that people can suggest otherwise is truly mind boggling.
He continues to put terrible lineups out there. He is horrific at managing in-game. He mismanages the pen game in and game out. He bunts more than once in a blue moon. He has no clue when to be aggressive and when to be conservative. etc.
At this point, the only thing he does half decently is talk to the media.

The in game managing is just consistently below average and people are starting to wonder if its a coincidence that such talented players are all playing poorly under him.

What he thought the countermove to walking fielder was going to be?

I actually didn't have much of a problem with that call. Its more of Farrell's overall performance.

I think it's time that Farrell calls a team meeting... At least with the veterans who should be leading this team and showing the young players how to do things right. I would call 5 of the most important veterans into my office and talk to them for about 45minutes. I bet that would turn this team around.
