This is not on the game but, has anyone noticed the crappy and dirty condition of the padding around the field? The padding around each batting circle seems all stained and the bullpen padding seems like it's " rusted" out. The numbers and letters on the signs they hang on the scoreboard are in terrible condition. From the TV screen, it looks cheap.

Owens through six innings today threw one FB at 92, one at 91 and rest and 90 or 89, mixing pitches very well with very good command.

I am not thrilled about pushing owens to high pitch count. He will build up endurance over time. For now just get him experience.

I am not thrilled about pushing owens to high pitch count. He will build up endurance over time. For now just get him experience. In a sense I don't blame you, but keep in mind that Lovullo is auditioning for a job as well as Henry. To his credit, he's trying to win as many games as he can, and with the train wreck of a bullpen (notwithstanding yesterday), he's been trying to steal extra outs with the last few percent of his starters' max allowable workloads. Henry is probably OK, he will be within a reasonable jump from his innings last year. Which reminds me, Owens for his minor league career has been the poster boy for innings progression as he ages. If he gets one more start this season he could end up with about 180 innings pitched, after 101/135/159 the 3 previous years. He is set up to be a full-time, 200 inning pitcher next season if he can convince the club to give him a regular rotation job, and if he stays healthy. EDIT: Wait, I miscalculated. Today's start brings him up to 180 innings with likely one start to go. He's been groomed to be a full-time innings eater next year. Which makes me wonder: Is there some special circumstance why he hasn't graduated from prospect status yet? Interesting that I didn't see anything on the site about him graduating -- you folks usually go about announcing that in advance.

If I was GM I would Cut paps Hoo boy. What could Paps be so upset about, with Harper being the Nationals' meal ticket and the guy who basically carried them as far as they got this season? Maybe he's been watching too much Donald Trump.

...and they lost it to the Sox who've moved ahead of the Rays, again. Just one game behind the O's, also. Looks like Owens had a great game.

I can't imagine any team who would want someone as toxic as Papelbon who is mediocre at best a pitcher, due to be paid $11 million for 2016, combined with someone who equally stirs things up with teammantes and opposing players.

Maybe he's been watching too much Donald Trump. Morals aside, Papelbon made Harper look like a little boy there. He was shook from the second Papelbon grabbed him. I would think Harper is stronger, but it helps Pap that he's a psychopath. They can go ahead an cut him, and probably will. Also, Matt Williams put Papelbon in the game after... Must have bonded over their gloomy job outlook. Terrible manager making a stupid choice.

Once he had a kerfuffle with a local MMA fighter and I kid you not he could have killed that guy. As him and years watching Banshee have taught me, nothing beats crazy in a non professional fight.

If I was GM I would Cut paps You know, it wasn't the right time and Pap is a loon, but I watch Bryce every day, and I have to say....He went from immature to prima donna. He blames people for his wild throws, he literally fixes his hair 8 to 12 times a game (almost like he knows he's on camera) He speaks with almost no one unless he's hit a bomb or someone else has (Then he acts excited), and he shows up umps. Don't get me wrong god I wish Bryce was in left (not right his range is kinda overrated) for us, but hes needed to be put in his place several times this year. Just not that time . --Sox fan who watches the masns'

"in fact catching that kind of ball is one of the few things JBJ can't do" -- Why do you say that? Because I've seen him take some awkward leaps in front of the wall and he just doesn't seem to get as much vertical air as Mookie. BTW, if you want to be sure I read your reply, you should use the quote function, because I'm not reading 100% of forum posts nowadays.
