Now what? Am I alone in only caring about the Red Sox and not really about the rest of baseball? I'll probably watch a little of the playoffs, but not a lot. You're probably not alone, but I am a baseball fan and I enjoy watching meaningful baseball. My only hope is that the Yanks get knocked out on Tuesday so I can truly enjoy the post-season (like last year) and be absolutely neutral and just enjoy the game for the game's sake. When the Sox are in, I'm a nervous wreck who can't enjoy it unless they win, and even that enjoyment doesn't come until after the last out of the game because like I said, I'm a nervous wreck. And fretting about the Yankees winning is almost as bad. When neither one are there, I can enjoy the game itself and root for one thing - each series to go the max with a lot of exciting games. I'm enough of a historian to know every franchise's history, not just the Sox or Yanks, so I can enjoy the reactions of the fan bases. Other than Let's Go Houston on Tuesday night, I'm just going to sit back and relax and enjoy and keep a very close eye on what the Sox do this winter.

Just a random, interesting final stat thing here. Ortiz' 2014/2015 similarities have been noted, but how about Brock Holt?
2014: 492 PA, .100 ISO, .349 BABIP, 19.9% K rate, .281 AVG, .381 SLG, 98 wRC+, 2.3 WAR
2015: 509 PA, .099 ISO, .350 BABIP, 19.1% K rate, .280 AVG, .379 SLG, 98 wRC+, 2.5 WAR
Only major difference is the walk rate from 6.7% to 9.0%

Brock Holt, the practically perfect utility player. There's redundancy, what with Rutledge on the team also. I'm eager to see how the Sox deal with their positional flexibility and the guys they have to fill those spots.

Now what? Am I alone in only caring about the Red Sox and not really about the rest of baseball? I'll probably watch a little of the playoffs, but not a lot. There are some years where I don't even know who won the World Series if there's not someone on Facebook telling me their favorite team won ... maybe I'll see if the Astros beat the Yankees. Maybe. Reminds me when I purposefully avoided seeing Sidney Crosby lift the Stanley Cup until more than two years after it happened. I was trying to get through life never having seen it.
