Porcello had pitched at least 6 innings in each of his last 12 starts extending back to last season. That's the longest current streak of its kind in MLB. Great find, had no idea. Price and Porcello did the job when the pen really needed it. Don't care how bad the Braves are. The arms in the pen needed the break. I have to qualify that. Read today that Arrieta has 24! He,does have 12, but maybe it's for the AL.

What on earth do they hope to accomplish by hooking Norris other than burning their bullpen? Oh well...

What on earth do they hope to accomplish by hooking Norris other than burning their bullpen? Oh well... The problem isn't really pulling Bud Norris, it's employing Bud Norris in the first place.

Can Ortiz un-announce retirement? Semi-serious.

Isn't it great to have the equivalent of a 2nd unexpected Papi in the lineup in Travis Shaw?

Brutal night for Hanigan and Wright on a pitch by pitch basis. Glad I'm only following this one on gameday, saw all the passed balls there. Little league baseball. The highlights are good.

Where would this team be without Shaw and Wright, neither of whom were counted on during team construction other than for depth?

Pedroia now with 6 GIDP this year. On pace for 48. Take the good with the bad.....but does it mean he is having a harder time getting the ball off the ground? Pvs career high is 24.
