I just want them to hit the s*** out of Gray tonight so they can shut the WFAN callers: THIS TEAM NEEDS A NUMBER TWO SO LET'S TRADE MONCADA FOR SONNY GRAY! I'm expecting a gem from Clay tonight so we can have an old fashioned bullpen game tomorrow.

HMMM Gray also starting out (relatively) slow along with his fellow Commodore (Price) ....must be a Vanderbilt thing.

It's pretty ridiculous (crappy?) that the Sox are essentially forced into using a replacement level at best 28-year old to start a game in early May when the team actually looks like they could be in contention long term (as opposed to recent history). The inability for Owens to develop and Johnson to be available really hurts when the club is currently without Kelly and E-Rod. Fortunately both of them look to be available within a week or so, but the lack of faith (deserved for the most part) in Owens is pretty telling.
I would be surprised if Owens remains in the system for much longer if the Sox get any type of decent offer or another team likes him as a complimentary piece to a deal

I know they are completely different pitchers, but Owens has the feel of Anthony Renaudo. Can dominate AAA hitters (for stretches) then get lit up by ML hitters. Renaudo is still trying to figure it out. Hope Johnson takes ANY type of step forward tonight.

Suggestion: can we also get the umpiring crew for each series? Those guys have more influence on the outcome of a game than the SPs heh

With two lefties now scheduled to pitch, Chris Young should get a couple more starts. While they're in the middle of a 16 game stretch without a day off, it might be a good time to give Mookie Betts or Travis Shaw a day off (those are the only two guys who have started every game so far this season).

I'll be a few rows behind the bullpen tomorrow night... was hoping for someone a bit more enticing than Sean O'Sullivan. At least I'll be walking away a proud owner of a David Price / Astro bobblehead.

Clay Buchholz might genuinely be the worst pitcher in baseball.

Kind of a waste to bat Xander leadoff, JBJ makes more sense to me with the way he's been swinging the bat.

The perils of playing Brock Holt everyday....man it would be nice if we actually had a competent 3rd outfielder so we could maximize his usage.

The Yankees for all their millions have been to the World Series once in the last twelve years. Between slotting and luxury taxes and the draft MLB has reduced the differences between the rich teams and poor teams. All teams have flaws. The 2016 Red Sox aren't going to be a great team, but they will be competitive and entertaining and they are young enough and have enough in the farm that they could be great by 2018 and for a few years after that (we have a chance to look like the Cubs in a couple years). A lot of fan bases would kill for what Red Sox fans have.
