Thank god Rutledge started even though we were off yesterday and will have two more off days coming up. It's not like it has cost us already. Good job Farrell!

I thought no outs, first and third, and Shaw having a 3-0 count would have gotten us some runs.

Let's be a fair, in a doubleheader Rutledge is probably starting one of the games.

Rutledge just should not be in the 6 spot. I dont mind him playing, but being in the heart of the order?

Rutledge just should not be in the 6 spot. I dont mind him playing, but being in the heart of the order? Well, it's either three lefties in a row, Young against RHP, or Hanigan there. Edit: they could have bat Ortiz third and broke up the lefties though.

He loves those stats even more than he loves Chris Young, thus Rutledge bats 6th... See, that could have been a 3-run homer for Chris Young just now rather than solo, but you know, he was 0 for 6 against Kennedy previously so no way Farrell could have seen it coming.

Dave O'Brian loves stupid SSS stats too. "Mookie loves hitting here at Kaufmann Stadium, he's .457 in 8 games!"
I mean, it's not like Orsillo didn't mention stupid stats like RBIs, but O'Brian really annoys me with the way his intonation suggests that he finds this stuff really significant.

Orsillo was worse, talked about a lot of non baseball stuff and did idiotic stuff like the wally dance.

I think he might've been safe had he not slid.

He 100% would have been safe had he not slid. There is just about never a good reason to slide into first base.

Orsillo was worse, talked about a lot of non baseball stuff and did idiotic stuff like the wally dance. Well I'm sure it wasn't Orsillo's decision to show the Wally Wave or have a text message poll on viewers' favorite movies.

Orsillo talked about the hotel and what he had to eat and stuff like that way too much. Plus O'Brien is just better in general.

Chris Young hits homerun to tie....crickets....way to go Chris.

But man, O'Brien really is much better. Red Sox have Kennedy at 100 already this has to be a big inning.

Orsillo talked about the hotel and what he had to eat and stuff like that way too much. Funny thing was, he did that with Remy, but not so much with Eck, and as such I always put the blame for that more on Remy. I'm still betting Remy will eventually corrupt O'Brien and they'll be just at bad as Orsillo/Remy within 2 years. Meanwhile, I'm not feeling any chemistry between O'Brien and Eck, and at the moment I would rank Orsillo/Eck > O'Brien/Eck > O'Brien/Remy > Orsillo/Remy > Anyone/Lyons

Chris Young hits homerun to tie....crickets....way to go Chris. It was a loud home run, too. He's not a big guy but has that sneaky bat speed.

Chris Young hits homerun to tie....crickets....way to go Chris. Not to mention sweet-sweet play Rut made earlier at third!

The Bogaerts Jeter-esque play was nice, too. But day games never get as much gameday love.

Welp, glad Kennedy was able to stay in the game long enough for Kennedy-destroyer Josh Rutledge to face him one more time.

This ump sure is making the AB's harder for us. Shaw was 2-0 and ball 3 was called strike 1. Same for JBJ.

Damnit Steven, stop throwing fastballs! ...unless they are up out of the zone and induce a popup like that one, those are OK.

Pfff, bad showing today. That huge squander in the fourth inning comes back to bite us in the ***, as was to be expected.

Hopefully Farrell just lets Wright pitch the complete game and saves the bullpen for the evening, unless the Sox tie it or take the lead.
