I was gonna say Hall of Fame, but you're right, baby steps. --- Anyway, odds that McCarthy winds up having a better night than the system's top two healthy pitching prospects, because baseball?

Because baseball AND because Buffalo is currently atrocious. Their lineup is all old guys playing terribly. Domonic Brown, Casey Kotchman, Jesus Montero, Alexi Casilla (who is somehow only 31), Matt Dominguez. Ugh.

Alexi Casilla (who is somehow only 31) For real? Wow. I feel like he played in the 90s. K then.

I'm pretty sure anyone that has ever played fantasy has at about 10 different times thought, "I need a middle infielder, hmm Alexi Casilla, yeah I'll try him."

Does Toronto just not know how to draft/develope? I don't recall them trading off a large amount of pieces since the Syndergaard deal. I also noticed Norfolk (Orioles) has the worst record in the IL. Hunter Harvey is their only top 100 prospect (#81) & he's been out for 1 year and a half.

I suppose we could say Toronto knows how to draft in picking Thor, too bad they don't know who not to trade Unfortunately we picked KV over Yelich and BB over Thor, and AR over Smyly. If only there were someway to see into the future

Forgot about Price, my bad. Thought Tulo was pretty much straight up for Reyes.

Benny's day wasn't as bad yesterday as maybe it looked. Each of the pitcher's he faced was at least 25 years old. Wily veterans he hasn't even heard of probably can present problems with any prospect.

As great as our young guys have been; i.e. Mookie, Xander, Rodriguez, Vasquez, Swihart etc...guys like JBJ and Shaw and making a run at them for who ends up the best. Who could have guessed that some of these guys would put up numbers like Shaw and JBJ? If JBJ ends up anywhere near his current level every team in baseball will want him. Who needs Trout when you have JBJ at near league minimum? We should thank our lucky stars for his production.
Just completely digging the situation with these young stars we are so lucky to have. We all have experienced the great Redsox years but in terms of young talent I don't think we have been near this level since 67. There was a lot of great young talent on that team also.

That also wasn't that far removed from the Reyes and Buerhle trade which cost them Adeiny Hechavarria, Anthony DeSclafani, Henderson Alvarez, Jake Marisnick, and Justin Nicolino. So they've really emptied out their farm system (so many pitchers) for trades in the last 5 years, yet they've still been able to retain Aaron Sanchez, Marcus Stroman, and Robert Osuna. I'd say that drafting and international free agency hasn't been their problem.

Then squander them with a win-now mentality. I can live with the Kimbrel trade even if I hate it. I hope it's just a one time thing with DDo.

You can't keep every prospect. Guys like Benny, Devers, Moncada, and Neo are probably pretty much untouchable at this point unless it's a huge deal. It would be nice if they could develop a pitcher, however.
