I know we all love Mookie, but having a lead off hitter with a .318 OBP is sub optimal.

They've been far more complimentary to the Sox lineup than the NESN team would likely to be if the situation was reversed. They're whole broadcasting team is much better. Unfortunately no Palmer today, listening to him is about equal to listening to Eck. Bring back Buck Martinez Wan't Buck, Toronto ?

Running into outs with your best hitter at the plate. Unbelievably stupid.

Yeah, why would anyone who steals just about every base he attempts try to get into scoring position with 2 outs?

Running into outs with your best hitter at the plate. Unbelievably stupid. The other possibility was having a man in scoring position with your best hitter at the plate. And Xander succeeds more than he fails.

Xander has 7 SB and only 2 CS so far. I think he gets the benefit of the doubt.

Yeah, why would anyone who steals just about every base he attempts try to get into scoring position with 2 outs? with Ortiz up, he was already in scoring position

Yeah, why would anyone who steals just about every base he attempts try to get into scoring position with 2 outs? Yeah, why would a guy who has easily been scoring from 1st on David Ortiz's 37 XBHs run into an out in a 1 run game with him at the plate. It was stupid. Period.

Running into outs with your best hitter at the plate. Unbelievably stupid. He was in. 1-2 hole. He tried getting in scoring position, pretty clearly the right move.

Now they're quoting Ted Williams on the Korean War. LOL, NESN probably doesn't know Ted was a Marine.

The Xander sycophants are nauseating; any other player and you'll would have been bitching like they were umpires

Martinez filled in for NESN when Remy was out a few years back

I thought the steal attempt was fine. If reasonable people can disagree about a decision, it's probably not worth castigating the manager for.

Just glancing at the box score and this caught my eye. Poor guy. PB: Hanigan (14) In 18 games started no less. I bet it is real tough to catch Buchholz also. Could it be that what they were concerned about with Swihart defensively is now visiting Hannigan?

Who knew Ortiz could hit a HR with 2 outs.
Just makes that CS hurt that much more...ugh.
