Great win.
But geez, Farrell using the 40 year old back-up closer with a 4 run lead, and that point I made earlier about using then pen til it's running on rims and shredded tires? Looks like it's starting early.

This has been a nice game so far. Pretty quick, good pitching by the Sox, couple of dingers ... pleasing. Did you have to do this?

I think it's a tenuous line linking Farrell to Koji's shoulder

I do not know if we can blame Farrell for wanting to make sure we got a win today.
Next two days will be tough.
It's too bad for Koji though. Ouch!

I missed it. What happened at the end here? Koji came in for the top of the 9th and got one out. The next batter he threw a pitch and kind of stretched his arm back (like he was scratching his back). Then he shook off pitches and threw a slider for the next pitch and grabbed at his shoulder/upper bicep/peck area and called for help from the dugout.

Ryan Hannable @ryanhannable 51s51 seconds ago Farrell said Koji Uehara felt a pec strain and needed to come out. Will be reevaluated tomorrow. Don't know how long he'll be out.

"Come on Brian, Henry Owens for Andrew Miller is a fair deal with great value for you. I mean, don't you read Sox prospects!?..."

It's a strained pectoral for Koji Uehara, according to manager John Farrell. Uehara will be evaluated further on Wednesday. Farrell: "I can't tell you at this time how much time Koji will miss." Share MLB 5m

At one point Dumbrowski tell himself "OK,I'm terrible at building bullpens and it'ss been this way for a while now. Why not, I'll leave it to someone else, like my GM?"

Objectively, dispassionately - this just probably isn't the Red Sox' year

Thanks for reminding us of this. Right now everyone is thinking of the 2015 Kansas City Royals that won it all on the strength of a great bullpen. The 2013 Red Sox are a reminder that you just need a good team.

"Dumbrowski" is immature and childish. If you don't like him fine. But you show your maturity level when you talk and act like a child. He has a name. Call him by his actual name.

What's with the sudden policing of nicknames? People have been calling Panda nasty nicknames alluding to his weight and I didn't see anyone make a deal out of it.

Like I said, stick to what you do best (or maybe the only thing you're capable of doing) meaning posting tweets, links, phone screenshots and leave the other stuff to the mods.

You'd think the Red Sox lost tonight just reading these ridiculous posts.

This is what Farrell does, he drives relief pitchers into the ground in low leverage games with a 3-6 run lead and then throws out middle relief guys in high leverage situations because he has overworked the other guys. This extends way back to even his Toronto tenure. I'm guessing the front office has talked to him at some point but it seems like either they haven't done a good job of it or Farrell is just being stubborn this is how he likes to manage.
