Wish List for this series (there is some whimsy in this)
1) A "Quality Start" for Velazquez tonight (I always love watching a player's big league debut) 2) Pomeranz pitching effectively and without any injury (I'll take six innings and be happy) 3) JBJ continuing to hit the ball hard. 4) Three wins 5) Marrero getting a hit in every game...just because 6) A throw from Mookie to nail a runner at home

Dies anyone know who's getting sent down because of the Velasquez activation?
I mean Chase d'Arnaud had made 2 appearances since bring acquired but I'm not sure if he gets DFA'D at this point.

Chase d'Arnaud or a relief pitcher. They need the bullpen arms after the extra inning game yesterday and for the Velasquez start today. Hopefully he can go 6 innings but you just don't know.

Really hoping Oakland does not feast on Velasquez secondary pitches.

Really hoping Oakland does not feast on Velasquez secondary pitches. His split change is actually a pretty nasty pitch. It's his fastball that gets him in trouble because he has to be perfect and command it because he doesn't throw hard.

Really hoping Oakland does not feast on Velasquez secondary pitches. He's not overly impressive. Is Price ready yet?

That's not even competitive pitching out of Valaquez.

Just being a "Strike thrower" isn't enough at this level. This guy is throwing actual BP out there.

I guess Hector will have to be the sacrificial lamb tonight and we'll hope to win a 12-10 ballgame?

I haven't seen this bad of a pitcher in a long time. Cough... cough... Henry Owens!! In fairness, Kendrick was pretty craptastic....

Game would be 12-3 without the defense.

Velazquez was more impressive when he was a totally unknown quantity. He got raked tonight. It's amazing how the Red Sox cannot get any decent outings out of a replacement starter. You'd think by share luck you might get a Kason Gabbard contribution or something.
Between Kendrick, Owens, Velazquez, O'Sullivan, Elias, and Kendrick the spot starter spot has been awful. Only Brian Johnson furnishes any real hope at this point. I mean, Velazquez's stuff looked very unimpressive.
