I dunno. I'm not thinking much about this team for October. Any lineup with Moreland batting cleanup and Young 5th isn't going anywhere. i know the offense has been terrible, but you gotta hope that things improve. I like our pitching to get us to the postseason. I also don't think there are better teams in our division. I don't view these guy as World Series favorites, but I am pretty confident they will make the postseason, barring major injury setbacks. I think improved price or porcello really puts the team in a good spot. I keep thinking that mookie is going to explode. I find it hard to believe he is a 260 hitter. But man! It is so frustrating to watch them swing toothpicks at this extremely hittable pitcher tonight. Thanks Dave!!

We need two runs in the bottom of the six.

DD should be looking for a Travis Shaw like bat at the deadline, been a while since the Sox had a guy like him.

youll have to wait until the end of the year to ask me if I prefer a team that scores a ton, but can't pitch very well vs. a team that pitches well, but doesn't score a lot of runs.
As it stands right now, I can't really decide.

As it stands right now, I can't really decide. The fan side of me is far happier (as in more fun to watch) with a team that scores a lot. Being shut down by average pitchers or worse is not a whole hell of a lot of fun at all.

Also think a team that should score runs but simply doesn't is maybe the most frustrating team to watch.

We've been so spoiled in the recent past years with amazing offenses. As of this morning this team is #6 in the AL in runs scored, 4th in ERA (3rd in FIP) and 4th in run differential.
The best hitter on the team is running a .262 BABIP, help is coming in the form of Eduardo Rodriguez, Carson Smith and whatever 3rd baseman whether that be Holt, Lin, Peralta or Devers. My point is, the team will get better, and the competition (mfy) will likely get worse due to absurd overperformance.
Are we like people eating a steak dinner who can't help but complain it's not fillet mignon?

If this team hasn't frustrated you many times this year, then we are wired really differently!

lol Shaw just went deep again Thanks Dave!!!! Hey Dave, when you call other general managers and offer tons of top prospects and your only major league calibre 3rd baseman for broke down relief pitchers, can you hear those GM's assistants screaming "thank you god" and laughing their behinds off in the background? Dave, has it ever occurred to you that sucker is not a lollipop?

Porcello not good enough.
The Sox lineup isn't good at all.
Should of traded Porcello when his value was highest coming off his Cy Young campaign last year.

If I were a pitcher facing the Sox, I would just throw sliders low and outside. Could end up breaking the record for strikeouts.

Judge has more homers than this starting infield put together.

I'm frequently baffled Kyle Gibson is still a MLB pitcher. If guys can't hit him tomorrow it might just be time to tank.

If I were a pitcher facing the Sox, I would just throw sliders low and outside. Could end up breaking the record for strikeouts. There is a lot of truth to this statement. If an umpire calls one low and outside slider a strike in the first inning, then look out, because all our hitters heads are messed up and they have just mentally expanded the strike zone to biblical porportions. This is another reason why I think we need a veteran professional hitter on this team. We need a guy that help these hitters realize what opposing pitchers are doing to them. Ps: if Hanley is hurt, put him on the dl and let him get better. Because the wounded warrior is not helping the team. I doubt he is hitting over 200 these last 10 games or so.
