The Sox battled, we battled, but we all prevail in the end. ;-) No doubt! This is why this is the best sport in the world, it turns a painful frustration that has been going on for hours into a full on bliss in like 5 minutes out of complete chaos.

Not sure if was Farrell that called for the double steal, but that might have been the thing that won the game. Without the steal the next ball would have been an easy double play to kill the rally. Gutsy call.

Mookie's speed played a huge part in the win. He beat out that infield grounder, had the speed to beat the throw to 2b, was able to steal 3rd, and had the speed to put pressure on the 2b which I think helped contribute to the error.
That was one of the strangest walk-off come from behind victories I've ever seen the Red Sox get. They couldn't even hit the ball out of the infield. The only "heroic" thing they did was the double steal.
But hey, it counts, hopefully the Sox can win at least one more.
Beat the Yankees and shed 250 pounds of Panda. What a great day for Red Sox nation.

Good come back win. Tomorrow they must blow the Yanks out the water. They had so many chances tonight. Don't waste these opportunity over and over.

Wow. That was a great win! There will be some serious Girardi face in that post game interview session. Was "WOW" an exclamation or a abbreviation in this case?

Gutsy call. He said in the interview that he didn't but that everybody knew that Betances is slow, especially with a runner at 2nd. It seemed pretty clear they had talked about it.

So I missed this one last night but I see the big OPS guy was o-3 with a BB and a SO. Very nice, given the close game. It wasn't discussed much before the series but I hope they give him nothing, particularly SAle today.
He'll probably want to challenge Judge but let's avoid that and if he walks (particularly with some one on) so what. Yes he's going to SO prob' 205 times this season but get the split tomorrow and go on from there. LHP to rhh power guy isn't the matchup you want to fool with. Go Chris!
Factoid: B.Bonds highest strikeout total for a season, less than the total Judge has now after (84g),(BB's rookie year 102).

Sincere question: How dumb was it for Girardi to IBB Hanley in the 9th with runners on 1st and 3rd and no outs? I say it was about 9/10 dumb.

Just your standard walk of walk. Scott LauberVerified account @scottlauber 3h3 hours ago From the great @msimonespn: Red Sox's last game-ending walk vs. Yanks was by none other than Ted Williams in 1956 in a 1-0, 11-inning win.

The best part about last night's win was the fact that the Yankees used their best bullpen arms in a loss. Chapman and Greene threw a lot of pitches yesterday. That is a optimal situation when trying to win 3 more games in the next two days.

Also of note, it was the first time that Chapman has walked a batter to force in the game-ending run in the major leagues. And it was the second walk that Benintendi has drawn against Chapman this season. No other left-handed batter has walked against him this season. Sincere question: How dumb was it for Girardi to IBB Hanley in the 9th with runners on 1st and 3rd and no outs? I say it was about 9/10 dumb. It was pretty damn idiotic considering Chapman strikes out nearly 15 dudes per 9 but also walks a bunch of guys. He probably thought that since the ball didn't leave the infield he would take the force at home and somehow stay in this one. Nope.

Ramirez had hit one HR and hit another ball which would have been a HR if not for the Monster. I think that mitigates the stupidity a bit.

Pete Abraham @peteabe 9s10 seconds ago At 1:30 Farrell said Joe Kelly was the 8th inning guy. At 2:51 he went on the DL with a left hamstring strain. Brandon Workman recalled.
