He argued strike 3 on Pedey- but I also wonder if he is trying to wake this team up - get the offense fired up a bit. We shall see.

A one run deficit looks like mt Everest to this offense. Here's hoping they brought their climbing boots. doesn't have to be as long as they remember to take it the other way, get on base, move people around....but more often than not, this offense gets behind and they all swing from their heels. Also, while there were a couple hard struck balls by the Sox, it was the error by LA that opened the door to two runs. They need to get a few men on base in a row and get a couple hard doubles. Stop swinging for the fences and instead square-up the ball. TB lost, NYY losing. Great opportunity here if they can stop tightening up when they're down.

They are not killing him, but Price is hittable. It is a step forward, half a step back for him this season. He is not quite there yet....physical, or mental?

Mookie throwing, Pujouls running and you can't get him out at home? Sox heads are up their butt in this game....does not bode well. And Price is now getting lit up.

Price won't go more then 5 innings. It's a struggle. This game isn't looking good.

How many times in 2017 have the Sox come back after being down two or more runs? Because this is the point in the game where I've come to feel it is pretty much lost. Too many times this season it seems they get in this position and the offense just possums.

This umpire is infuriatingly inconsistent. Balls thrown to virtually the same locations are balls for rights, strike to lefties, strikes one inning, balls the next. ![](http://www.brooksbaseball.net/pfxVB/fastmap.php?pitchSel=all&game=gid_2017_07_22_bosmlb_anamlb_1/&sp_type=2&s_type=7) ![](http://www.brooksbaseball.net/pfxVB/fastmap.php?pitchSel=all&game=gid_2017_07_22_bosmlb_anamlb_1/&sp_type=3&s_type=7)

Xander needs to spend time on the DL - he is not adding anything to the team with glove or bat. Injury we know about - but there is some sort of crisis of confidence going on too.

Mookie might end up with 9WAR again, eclipsing this infield put together.

Can someone explain to me what happened to David Price? The guy I watched in 2010-2015 looked so much different than this guy. Can he just not mentally handle playing in a city like Boston? Or is he physically declining? It's embarrassing this guy is making 31 million dollars a year. Sale makes nowhere near that amount and is far better.
For someone making that amount of money, I expect consistent ace performances and clutch play. Since we signed him he has been unreliable and I don't trust him when the postseason rolls around.

Last year, when he struggled, there was much made of how he changed his mechanics - didn't have the typical raised leg before the pitch. He worked on it, had a few good starts with a returned windup - then went backwards and can't seem to correct his mechanics. He now more often than not looks like he lacks confidence in his stuff - his starts are truly painful to watch. Playing behind him must be equally painful with the time he takes. But I also think that Boston is too much pressure for him - the Carl Crawford effect. I would be quite happy if both the Price and Hanley experiments were over...as I am delighted we are now Panda-free The contrast between Sale and Price is now very stark.

You're way overreacting. His last 5 starts have all been quality starts.

Deflating, uninspiring - another one of many of these types of games this year. This offense should be ashamed of itself.

The frustrating part is the offense starts out beating up on a mediocre, at best, pitcher, then at the end of the second inning, they take rest of the night off.
Our offense needs help really bad!

Started out very promising. Seems like we are just treading water at .500 lately. That's not a bad thing, as long as we can get another 8 out of 10 another time or 2 before the end of the year. Offense just has problems sustaining any momentum. We shall see what the organization does about that.

For a team with this caliber of starting pitching, seems like a waste.
