Thank god Joe West got it right. There were so many calls that usually go against us even if they're wrong. Just one of them would have ended the series.

It would be difficult to express my level of anger after Rodriguez did that. That dude is such a pageant mom prick.

Mentioning the 78 collapse offers a great chance to mention the difference between this team and that. That squad had great position players, but was built around them playing every day, and they got tired. Our strong bench has recently allowed most guys to get a day or two off, with immediate and probably also long-term benefits. And there are guys in AAA that could help in September. At least the crappy manager we had in '78 had an excuse -- a hunk of metal in his head. Well that, and he was, according to some, a gerbil. What's JF's excuse?

I was so used to those calls ALWAYS going the Yankees way and against the Red Sox. I still can't get over that feeling and am so irrational about Red Sox/Yankees games to this day.

Don Zimmer made Bobby Valentine look open minded and forward thinking.

Usually you just have to look up a guy's career platoon splits. But here's wOBA allowed by Garcia, RHB, LHB: .302, .266: 2008,10.307, .339: 2011.326, .281: 2012.265, .334: 2013-15.335, .294: 2016-17---------- .308, .305 The seasons I've lumped together have similar splits. So he's been totally neutral in his career but has never had a season that fits that description. Four seasons with really big reverse slits and five with moderate normal splits. I suspect this may be real, but that's the extent of my curiosity .

At some point our luck with RISP against the MFY has to regress to the mean right?

Lol the NESN graphic said it was Hanley's 8th HR of the season. I know he's been somewhat disappointing, but not that bad.

That ball was mashed. Hanley has had his struggles this year, but you still can't throw him a nothing ball in his wheelhouse when he's looking for it. Terrible pitch.

Now would be a great time for Hanley to heat up. What a shot.

Way to get the Sox on the board Hanley.
Now, put up that ZERO E-Rod.

6 FB in a row to Hicks. Wtf, CVaz? Talk about trying to establish the fastball early.

6 FB in a row to Hicks. Wtf, CVaz? That's typical of Rodriguez. He is 70% fastballs.
