really hoping for a good start for ERod. Would be great if he could get some real momentum heading into September and beyond. Tough challenge tonight.

I don't think Eduardo has thrown one offspeed pitch yet through 18 pitches.

No high FB to Judge, either.

I'd be really okay with 5 scoreless innings to get to the bullpen tonight. Just don't make a mistake Eduardo.

It's hard to pitch deep in games if he can't throw something else other than non competitive fastballs.

Man, good thing for JBJ ther. Nunez has to get under that though.
Nice job to work out of that for E-Rod.

This umpire has been calling the strike 2-3 inches outside off the plate to RHB all game, at least he has been with Garcia. I can see myself getting really aggravated by this soon enough.

Lots of loud outs for Eddy, he needs to pitch better, the BABIP gods have a short leach.

Great baserunning. Challenge Ellsbury's arm whenever you can.

Has the Devers video with Harold Reynolds been mentioned? 10 minutes discussing his swing and approach: with an interpreter but he understands a lot of English. not much taller and is is slimmer than Reynolds (who of course is long retired and is bulkier than in his 2b days), said he uses a 33 1/2" 31 oz bat--the same as Reynolds says he used to use--let's him be quicker. Using an open stance this year for the first time--helps his mechanics. Seems smart, polite, like a first-semester frosh. www.mlb.com/redsox/video/devers-demos-his-plate-approach/c-1710484483?tid=7417714

You got to be kidding me with those at bats.
Next time you make a lineup Farrell, make sure you don't put one of your worst hitters in the 5 hole.

Two struggling hitters should not batted in the middle of the order.
