I seriously think that the Red Sox should go with Price in the bullpen for the playoffs when that comes around. He'd probably be a great option out there.

Lol Carlos Santana is 0-7 in his career against Kelly. That's why he went to Kelly. #Farrell And he may be trying to build Kelly's confidence up so he'll have multiple options in key situations, and Kelly gets it done. He's basing his decisions on short sample sizes, which is absolutely the wrong call.

As much as I want him bumping Fister from the rotation/team ASAP, it sounds like that's not happening very soon. And if he's going to have trouble getting back soon enough to rehab much, it might be the best way to get him back and preserve him. If they got him back mid Sep and got him a few outings to get him accustomed before the season ends, it could give us a huge weapon out of the pen, and maybe put a bit less pressure on him to let him right the ship as far as his playoff history goes.

It's easy to pull a starter early when Price is in the bullpen and that's a great option in the playoffs. Plus, he won't have the pressure on him, if that is actually a problem for him.

They probably won't have a chance to since the minor league seasons will probably be over by the time he's ready in a few weeks (from how it is sounding). They could rehab him in low leverage relief innings in September though.

Wow Andrew Miller injured for the second time facing him in a Sox series. That's a huge blow for Cleveland if he doesn't make it back this year.

I know it's ONLY 6 pitches, but Miller doesn't look that good Good call. I'd be roasting the Red Sox if they rushed someone like him back before he was ready. That's just going to make it so it takes longer for him to come back.

I'm good with Beeks bumping Fister, with Velazquez as his piggyback if necessary.

If Price's elbow is really that shot, I'd love to see him air everything he has left out of the bullpen and have the Tommy John surgery after the season. Makes sense. What do you really have to lose there anyways? It sounds like surgery is inevitable at this point.

What do you really have to lose there anyways? It sounds like surgery is inevitable at this point. Because the Sox would be stuck with him for seven additional seasons at $30M/yr. Pray he's healthy next year has a good year, he opts out, you wish him well, he's gone and we reallocate that money somewhere else.

Guess there's no chance Kelly comes back out for the 7th. I think it has been an hour since the last out.

could the wait have affected Miller's knee? Kelly should probably not come back out now, either.

That's just going to make it so it takes longer for him to come back. I know he just got back, but he was throwing a couple of fastballs at 89 MPH & was all over the place. I'm with you(on the roasting if the Sox rushed a pitcher like him too soon). Who knows how long this will set him back now.
