Not real wild about the 4th pick but love the first 3 picks so hard to complain. I agree, but I feel that now more than ever the top 10 picks need to be rated as a package as opposed to individually.

Not real wild about the 4th pick but love the first 3 picks so hard to complain. Why's that? Just the few write-ups you've read? Maybe there's more there than that?

Excited to have another solid bat. Maybe the org can help him stay behind the plate. Seems like that would really do wonders for his stock.

Ward was mainly a reliever for UCF. High K rate this year. Will be interesting to see if we try to stretch him out or not.

Ehh....we've never really seen the Sox go well below slot on a college junior in these rounds. Could be slightly below, but I doubt enough to make a big splash. I lean toward siding with the latter of your possibilities. They saved over $100k on Netzer and Thompson's combined underslot bonuses in rounds 3 and 4 last year. Not saying Cottam will get $5k, but it's not crazy to hope they'll save $50-$100k on him. Right, and to be clear, its definitely possible that they save that amount on him. I just want to make sure people aren't assuming he is some well-below underslot signing (whatever that may mean).

OK, that's two potential under-slot guys in a row. I'm intrigued for the next couple picks. What big fish are still out there?

There's still about a dozen guys in MLB's top 100 available: -- -- 19 Wilcox, Cole Heritage HS (GA) RHP R/R HS SR 6' 5 220lbs DOB: 07/14/99 -- -- -- 23 Rocker, Kumar North Oconee HS (GA) RHP R/R HS SR 6' 4 235lbs DOB: 11/22/99 -- -- -- 55 De Sedas, Nander Montverde Academy (FL) SS S/R HS SR 6' 1 180lbs DOB: 07/25/99 -- -- -- 63 Cecconi, Slade Trinity Prep School (FL) RHP R/R HS SR 6' 3 186lbs DOB: 06/24/99 -- -- -- 65 Watson, Zach LSU (LA) CF R/R 4YR SO 6' 0 190lbs DOB: 06/25/97 -- -- -- 78 Hill, Jaden Ashdown Sr HS (AR) RHP R/R HS SR 6' 3 210lbs DOB: 12/22/99 -- -- -- 81 Northcut, Nicholas William Mason HS (OH) RHP R/R HS SR 6' 1 200lbs DOB: 06/13/99 -- -- -- 91 Hess, Zack LSU (LA) RHP R/R 4YR SO 6' 6 200lbs DOB: 02/25/97 -- -- -- 92 Pipkin, Dominic Pinole Valley HS (CA) RHP R/R HS SR 6' 4 160lbs DOB: 11/05/99 -- -- -- 94 Hansen, Brett Foothill HS (CA) LHP L/L HS SR 6' 3 190lbs DOB: 11/05/99 -- -- -- 95 Becker, Austin Big Walnut HS (OH) RHP R/R HS SR 6' 6 185lbs DOB: 09/02/99 -- -- -- 96 McDaniels, Garrett Pee Dee Academy (SC) LHP L/L HS SR 6' 2 170lbs DOB: 12/15/99 --

They've been linked to Luke Bartnicki, so that could be the one. A handful of HS guys like Brett Hansen, Slade Cecconi are still out there, too.

Rocker, Becker, Hansen and Northcut are Vandy commits, we know they can be tough signs, and if all 4 get to Nashville, I might buy season tickets. De Sedas and Cecconi, FSU and Miami commits respectively were thought to be tough signs heading into the year. Jaden Hill had some rawness, and could be a top 10 pick r w some seasoning at LSU, where it seems like Hess and Watson might be his teammates. I feel like draft eligible sophs tend to go back to school if they are not a top 2 round pick. McDaniels is a Coastal Carolina commit, and mlb seems to intimate that he is a tough sign based on their write up.

I feel like they might try something really big and go after Wilcox, or Rocker.

I feel like they might try something really big and go after Wilcox, or Rocker. I'd be surprised if that were the case. I feel like each has a price tag between $3-$5m, otherwise they would have been 1st rounders.

I like Garrett Wade a lot as well. He's not too big, but I don't care about the money for Wilcox. We need that type of HR pick to help this farm get back to where it was.

There are rules in place with the draft that restrict spending, if you are not familiar with them, it would be worth while to read them, so you could understand why drafting Cole Wilcox is essentially impossible. Probably save you some angst.

Callis says he was told all spring Granberg would be one of the first seniors. Says he is an exit velocity guy.

Senior, so here’s your below slot guy. Likely saving 230 k on this pick.

Senior, so here’s your below slot guy. Likely saving 230 k on this pick. You think he'll only get $10k? That seems a bit light even for a no leverage guy given he is ranked by a couple of places. usually the nepotism picks in 7/8/9 get $10k.
