Danny Diaz hit his 5th bomb of the season in the second game of the DH.

Antoni Flores didn't play in both of today's DH. He was pinch-hit for during the last Red Sox2 game in the middle of the at bat. Kind of strange.
Let's hope it's something minor 'cause we can all agree that he's clearly the future of the franchise.

After having 0 walks through his first 12 games, Danny Diaz has walked in three of his last four games. Could be as simple as DSL pitchers not being able to find the strike zone, or maybe he’s trying a more patient approach. And maybe it’s working. He’s had an extra base hit in his last four games.

Minor league pitch data is starting to sprinkle in sites, but from the DSL and GCL all strikeouts are treated as 3 pitch, 3 swing and miss at-bats, all walks are treated as 4 pitch, 4 ball plate appearances, etc. Just something to note if you come across wild numbers.

You really couldn't have waited until someone came in about how efficient one of the starters was, huh?

Josh D. Smith (the lefty) is actually getting the start tonight, with Haley going tomorrow and Josh A. Smith (the RHP) apparently moving to the bullpen.

Lowell's site says delayed due to ceremony. Anyone know what that's about?

Smith will go the first 5 or 6 innings of a game, and then Josh A. Smith will go the final 3 or 4 innings of the game, and they'll have an all Josh Smith game. (At least pitchingwise).

I had heart palpitations earlier when I thought Carlos Martinez swung and missed 67 times in 87 pitches... which may not be too far off from reality

Arnold with a 2-run jack in the 1st inning for the GCL Sox Mentioned this kid last year. I was very surprised that he signed as an undrafted player. I know he is back in the GCL this season, at least, to start. I wouldn't snooze on him. Good body and decent athlete. Hope he has a great start, and can move up this year to Lowell.

Lowell's site says delayed due to ceremony. Anyone know what that's about? They named the short street adjacent to the ballpark (leading to the parking garage) for Drew and Joann Weber before the game.

Shoutout to Red Sox Stats/Sox Scout for pointing this out on twitter: looks like Antoni Flores is in Ft. Myers per his instagram. Hopefully for good reasons and not because he is injured.

SSS alert. Duran is hitting .364 and has yet to single. He also has as many walks as strikeouts (3)
.364/.500/.909/1.409

He also has as many walks as strikeouts (3) .364/.500/.909/1.409 I really liked that pick; I love his tools (esp speed, obviously, but seems to have a solid hit tool too) and his potential as a 2b prevén CF. With the gap pop he’s showing I even dream on some loft a bit. Seems like a better-than-usual late rd pick to end up as a useful 4th OF (if they do move him) or a viable b/u MIF/Util guy. I remain a huge fan of hit tool draftees, especially if they’ve got great speed and/or defense.

Ockimey continues to warm up. He’s slugging .500 and his OBP is just a smidge under .400 despite the .282 average. Obviously the Ks remain a concern but at 22, he’s having himself a nice year in AA. The big power is starting to show in games, and that’s terrific to see given that AA is generally a major hurdle.

Castillo is at .316 and Lin at .295. Lin has the higher IsoP and OPS. . . . Red Sox Stats @redsoxstats 1h1 hour ago Over the past 2 months Travis is hitting 115/184/221 with a 36% strikeout rate. Not sure what the heck is going on there. Flip side, Tzu Wei Lin's last 100 PA: 356/396/556

Yeah....Travis was a binky..I really thought he would come on. Instead his path is like that of Swihart.
Loved Lin's defense last year. I'll bet he is trade bait tho.
