They're meant to be a lot less formal than other threads on the forum, so to moderate them the same way would be silly. However, we do ask posters to maintain a certain level of decorum in these threads, and we plan on moderating the Gameday threads a little more actively this season. In particular, we ask that posters refrain from being overly repetitive with their posts (if you've made your point, let it go), refrain from monopolizing the discussion (if you are making more than a couple posts in a row, you probably need to slow down a little bit), and of course, follow the Ground Rules ( link). The point is to make these threads worth participating in and fun for all posters, from our long-time fixtures to people just signing up today. -The Management

Interesting that a Sale/Colon matchup will be nationally televised. Good story lines throughout.

Careful, fellas... making wise cracks about hefty body types ruffles some feathers in these parts. I was admonished for joking about Sabathia during the last MFY series. Sabathia and Bartolo Calzone are beautiful as they are!

The Sox should take 2 out of 3 at the very least. Maybe game 1 is more even than I think, but this team should crush Gallardo in game 2. I mean, game 3 is the other biggest mismatch ever since the Hammel matchup last time Sale pitched.

Sabathia and Bartolo Calzone are beautiful as they are! They're both grotesquely obese. At least Colon makes a rare nimble play that leaves your mouth agape, though. A nice easy sweep here would be great. Maybe get Benintendi, Devers and Martinez a day off each somehow?

Aka, "Benny is really bad in CF". n/m. I must be reading something into it. I still think this is a really strange tweet, if from a Red Sox source.

Aka, "Benny is really bad in CF". This is a weird tweet to me. Is that source a Red Sox FO personnel? I mean, what is the point of it. Some people could see this as laying the groundwork for a trade of JBJ. If not this season, certainly next. I think you are maybe misreading it. As I see it the tweet is a comment on Martinez being positioned in RF rather than LF. LF is usually considered a position where you can get away with a lesser defensive player.

Yankees lose the first game of the doubleheader against Baltimore, although it wasn't an easy save for Britton. Not a game for the faint of heart, but we'll definitely take it. Now if only the Yankees can lose the next one in extra innings.

Aka, "Benny is really bad in CF". He's not nearly as bad in CF as JDM in RF in Fenway. Or really anywhere on the field.

What a deal Pierce is/was. i was just going to comment on that. He really is a perfect fit for this team. I hated seeing Espinal go, but Pearce fills the last real positional hole besides 2b, which is really up in the air. And, with the added offense I think it makes Lin vastly more palatable if he doesn’t hit (tho I have to think he can equal Nunez’s output so far)
