Grant Williams pinch ran for Cole Brannen in the first inning after Brannen reached base. Not sure if Brannen was injured on the play or not.

The DSL affiliates are both homerless since July 6, when both Ronaldo Pulgar (DSL Sox2) and Carlos Sanchez (DSL Sox1) went deep. Those are the teams' only two homers in July.
DSL Red Sox1 has a team SLG in July of .264. Red Sox2 blow that away with a robust .296.

Duran with another 3B. He now has 8 and the next best in the NY-Penn Lg has 5.
Bazardo also spinning another gem.

Does Bazardo still have an "organizational reliever profile"? He hasn't given up a walk in more than 30 innings.

Word I've heard is he's just banged up. My own speculation: wouldn't surprise me if he was trying to ramp back up a bit too fast and overdid something.

I have really bad news. I put this post into my Red Sox 2018 injury translate-o-matic and "Just a little banged up" means he is currently in surgery for torn ligaments in all his limbs.

From the 7th.
If he's got a thin frame and can't maintain velo, then yeah, reliever profile.

Excellent start by Shawaryn. 6 IP, 6 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, and 6 Ks.
Travis Lakins strikes out the side for his first professional save. Since his transition to reliever he has a 0.53 ERA in 16 appearances with a WHIP of 0.76

In case anybody was wondering why we're hitting so terribly tonight: yes, the Astros pitching has been excellent, but also there is NO BATTER'S EYE HERE AT BUIES CREEK. Amateur hour over here... literally.

How did Dalbec do tonight?

How did Dalbec do tonight? 0-2, K, 2 BB. Strikeout was on a funky straight change-up; really weird pitch. Walks were well-done, and his other out was on a screaming liner that was caught in the gap. One of our best swings all night. Lost the game on a sacrifice fly in the 10th. 10 innings, but it only took 2:35. Weird game. Houck sat 95, touching 96 multiple times; awesome movement on pitches. He did a good job of limiting hard contact in his six innings, though he did have 2 WP and 2 HBP along with one walk while whiffing six seven. Nonetheless, his slider was disgusting, as was the two-seamer. He's a guy.

I'm probably the only one that didn't know but Marcus Walden got in an inning for Lowell.
Cole Brannen didn't get in for the second game so he likely hurt something. Jarren Duran with what I think was his first start at CF.

Looks like he has two plus pitches Two plus for sure, and his 4-seam and curveball have both flashed above-average. He again racked up a ridiculous groundout ratio, with eight groundouts against one flyout. His GO/AO ratio in July is 29:8 (3.625). When you whiff seven, walk one, and get that many ground balls, you're likely to have a good night.
