A's striking out a ton already and the dumb Yankees fans are overreacting to every strike call. Half a inning and I'm already ticked.

yanks lineup is just too good in about every lineup spot to pitch Cutch like he's still in MVP-form...

If you’re going to use an opener, it’s less than ideal to start the game down two to nothing after two batters.

I bet that Judge HR would have been a single in Fenway. Probably the one park in baseball that it's not a homer.

I wouldn't write off a 2-0 game in this band box. Game is 9 innings, let's see how it plays out before all crazy proclamaitions
It's the playoff, fellas.....A-Ten-Hut !!!

If 5 people post the following, the chances of the MFY's losing this game increase by 20 %

what i don't get....if you are going to use an opener, why use a mediocre/bad pitcher like Hendriks (4.33 FIP)

The A's are melting out in this mound. I don't think Porcello or Eovaldi will do that at the very least.

This game is going as expected. I don't know why Fiers didn't get a start. He might have been as bad but you might as well use your best pitcher instead of using some mediocre reliever to start the game.
It's scary that Aaron Judge is starting to play more like himself.
That HR might not have been a homer at Fenway (probably not) but if the point is that the Yankees only hit HRs because of their park keep in mind that of their 267 homers, 123 of them came on the road - that's a pace of 246 per 162 games, which is a helluva lot.
This team has legit power up and down every spot of the lineup. They're scary. What holds back their offense is their lack of an old fashioned batting average and lack of speed.
In other words they struggle to string 3 hit together. It's homer or nothing, but it's hard to keep them down with all that power.

what i don't get....if you are going to use an opener, why use a mediocre/bad pitcher like Hendriks (4.33 FIP) the whole concept has a very shaky foundation. I am not buying it. It's a very fine strategy for navigating a 162 game season. But the strategy in a winner take all game is much simpler - use your best pitchers. Hendricks is not that when compared to their starters of their other relievers - and by settling on him they may have already blown the chance to use the strength of their team (middle to back bullpen) in any sort of high-leverage fashion because there already behind... Most notably they have just not come ready to play. They're pitching fielding and swinging like a nervous and tentative team not at all ready for prime time. We'll see if they can recover...
