EROD giving up just short of 2 hits an inning this year. Do we know if he is tipping pitches again ?

yeah. keep hoping, but i don't know if he will ever be better than 4 or 5. Cutter at 87, change at 88, FB at 92-93...hmmmm Not sure why he’s seemingly abandoned the slider he brought to Spring Training - it looked filthy.

i feel bad for him. Some of this is just being snakebit. He doesn't have a history of giving up hits like this. It has to be tough.

Erod is exactly the kind of pitcher who would greatly benefit from an opener. It would be easy enough to release Hembree and bring up Lakins and let him alternate with Brewer or Thornburg as the opener. Then release Nuñez once Pedroia is deemed healthy enough to start 4 games or more a week.

It really seems like the starters aren’t ready for the season. Not pitching them in game action all spring is appearing to be the dumbest thing I’ve seen.

I think the team is playing with the exact attitude that Cora has set for the team from the start of February. Its an attitude of spring training & the first month of the season doesn't matter. The way this team is playing & performing is squarely placed on Cora.

One day E-Rod and JBJ will no longer frustrate us anymore because they won't be around to do it.

To think we were 2 random Moreland macho moments away from being 0-8 this season lol.

The starters have really hurt the team's performance. I think the philosophy had the players health in mind, so I can't really get too upset by it.

Is this a World Series hangover? We know about the starters but twice this year (8 games) Betts and JBJ miscommunicated in balls in the outfield. I can't remember that happening in the past. Defense hasn't looked great and aside from JD and Moreland the offense hasn't been there either. And... some questionable base running.

Wow. Those who don't learn from the past are doomed to repeat it.....or something like that.

Minus well let Chapman kill us last inning with his defense and run into another stupid out because you want to test the arm of Laureano because you haven't been paying attention for the past 3 games.

Wow. Those who don't learn from the past are doomed to repeat it.....or something like that. That is a Little League mistake - you need FOUR to tie the game, unless you can run backwards and stand-up into third there is ZERO reason to make that decision... * That is something the base coaches should be all over so if they weren't in his ear about it pre-pitch and holding him up heading into second its on them, too...

2-6 in 2 places we never do well in isn’t the end of the world. Tomorrow is a new series win 2/3 from Arizona and keep it moving.
