Sale getting pounded high in the zone. Pitches dont look like they have the usual movement either. Yeah and the deception is all gone. It's sad to watch right now.

What a horrible attempt at a block by Vazquez. Please someone convince me he's a great defensive catcher. I take it you're talking about the pitch that was a slider when he was expecting a fastball? Yes the pitch he should have been in front of and kept the ball in front of with a man at third base.

Also, get rid of everyone else that has a bad couple of innings until there is no one left. come on man. People are getting frustrated. It is entirely understandable. My bad, I'll let the frustrated comments take over the board without a peep so that guests reading the board for the first time think we're literally insane.

So he was supposed to expect and catch a slider instead of the fastball that he called for. Ok. Seems reasonable.

No one is swearing (except me). We are 3-8 and nothing is going right on ring ceremony day. i don't this any guests feel that good either.

Seems reasonable. He made a weak stab instead of getting on his knees and staying in front of it. Whatever. Give me your rose colored glasses when your done with them.

Sale was actually encouraging today. He gave up almost nothing hit hard and was up to 95. He started missing spots later, but threw a lot of pitches in the 3rd and 4th.

Whatever. Give me your rose colored glasses when your done with them. Because he didn't know it wasn't a fastball until the last millisecond and had absolutely no time to move. This is a ridiculous observation. Catchers do not catch pitches when they get crossed up, especially when the ball is a good 3 feet away from where he called for it.

What ridiculous crap luck today. Now Shoemaker kicks the ball 30 feet in the air to the shortstop to get an out.

We all saw this piece on the starters’ crap performance, right? www.bostonglobe.com/sports/redsox/2019/04/08/breakdown-breakdown-examining-red-sox-early-pitching-woes/xu4UCOY4EO3yo7YoTNIe1L/story.htmlEsp these bon mots, which, doing the math means by that measure, all but Eduardo are like in the equivalent of the last 10-14 days or so of spring training: “I’ve always believed it takes a pitcher six weeks of throwing before they’re ready to get on the mound, then six weeks on a mound before their velocity peaks and their command stabilizes,” said Red Sox vice president of pitching development Brian Bannister.

You’re treating the guy like he’s some rookie making his 3rd start ever. The fact he got to 95 a couple times was better than his last start but he had one swing and miss. Nothing encouraging about that unless you’re just clamoring for a viable starting pitcher then sure it was encouraging.
