Well, interesting. Brewer showed Cora something - he tossed him into the deep end. Brewer should get some confidence out of that. Won't say it wasn't nerve wracking though!

Don’t look now, but Colten Brewer is starting to look like a “guy.” Take away a few abysmal early appearances, and he’s been pretty damn good. Still walks too many and gives up a bit of hard contact, and idk if his HR suppression is real, but they may have found something.

All they can do is not swing.

FWIW, Brewer hit 95.8 with his cutter and sat 94-95, per baseballsavant. A cutter. That’s good stuff, and it’s up almost 2 ticks from the beginning of the season.

Something about Brasier- perhaps whatever personal issue he was dealing with was impacting his performance. The break could have been what he needed
