This is the worst team in baseball we’re losing to here. We are just being temporarily gracious visitors to the home fans. Soon, we will send em from their seats.

They aren't selling...nor should they. Not sure why you guys keep bringing it up. FFS, they are 2 games back of the top wild card spot and they have one of the top offenses in the league. Tampa has been really fading lately and they're going to lose again today. They'll still be 2 above the Red Sox. The Indians are likely to win putting the Sox 4 behind them. If Oakland wins, they'll be 3 behind them. They have to finish the year above 2 of those teams.

Is losing to a team with 13 more losses than you have wins bad? Asking for a friend

And behind 3+ teams. So it’s not really 2 games back. And those teams don't have as good players as we do. it is 2 games back..they all gotta play 162.

The point is the Red Sox...or any team for that matter are not going to be sellers when they are 2-3 games back and there still is 40% or so of the season left to play. it just isn't going to happen. so why keep saying it

Those games will likely determine what they do. If they lose 4 straight they'll quickly fall out of it.

We are going to lose some of these games. Just because the team they're playing is garbage doesn't mean it's an automatic win. Even garbage teams win 60+ games a year, they sometimes even win against good teams.

Very true and very fair; however, they have put themselves in this position where, "just sometimes happens", can't happen.

price goes 4 bad innings and now brewer has loaded the bases with no outs. not feeling good about this one; also the defense has been about as bad as you could've have predicted when you saw tonight's lineup.

Cora is craving consistency. It just isn't in the cards for the 2019 Sox.

A pattern of a starter going short innings and then the bullpen taking over has been the big issue for the season. That's the killer for this team and I don't have a good feeling that it will work its self out the last two plus months of the season. It doesn't matter who they have in the pen when the pen has to pitch 3-4 innings every night. It's burn out.

Yah. I don’t think this team is going to suddenly flip a switch and streak into the playoffs.

Those games will likely determine what they do. If they lose 4 straight they'll quickly fall out of it. Even if they fall out quickly, I just dont see them selling at all. Let me ask you, if that scenario occurred, do you think that the ownership and management would not only face a mutiny from the players, but also from the fans. I do I think this whole selling this is more for teams that are aging with walk year FA's...etc...etc, that are clearly on the downside, and that isn't this team. I also think the strategy has become a sort of ideological crutch for things not going the way they should for teams. Look at the Rays, they were terrible last year for much of the first half, then played unbelievable. Winning...or tying to win...even if you end up losing is an admirable way to conduct your yearly business. Deadline trading has always been a part of baseball, so if it makes sense, trade some players...but becoming "sellers", that just isn't going to happen Toronto should clearly be sellers this year, with some of the talent they have.

Yah. I don’t think this team is going to suddenly flip a switch and streak into the playoffs. I'm a negative person and I think that's a tad strong. The Red Sox coming into tonight had a winning percentage of .692 this month.
