Somebody needs to explain a 230M team with this hotmess of a pen It’s not just the pen. The starters have been terrible. JD/MOOKIE have had underwhelming seasons. And so on. The team is leading in runs scores. It's the pitching

They have 14 straight with I think 10 against NY and TB before the deadline. Those games will likely determine what they do. If they lose 4 straight they'll quickly fall out of it. Even if they fall out quickly, I just dont see them selling at all. Let me ask you, if that scenario occurred, do you think that the ownership and management would not only face a mutiny from the players, but also from the fans. I do I think this whole selling this is more for teams that are aging with walk year FA's...etc...etc, that are clearly on the downside, and that isn't this team. I also think the strategy has become a sort of ideological crutch for things not going the way they should for teams. Look at the Rays, they were terrible last year for much of the first half, then played unbelievable. Winning...or tying to win...even if you end up losing is an admirable way to conduct your yearly business. Deadline trading has always been a part of baseball, so if it makes sense, trade some players...but becoming "sellers", that just isn't going to happen Toronto should clearly be sellers this year, with some of the talent they have. Not really. In fact, David Price warned of it earlier this season. The players are aware of it. Henry commented about how maybe bringing back the same team after the winning the WS was probably a bad idea. He sounds pissed that he's paying this much for a losing product. I don't think the fan interest is there this year with this team. I think the casual fan thinks they're in more dire situation than they really currently are and half expect a blow up.

Yah. I don’t think this team is going to suddenly flip a switch and streak into the playoffs. I do think there is truth to this statement, but you can't tell unless you get there.

This team would be better if they weren’t so putrid.

Ugh, Cleveland and Oakland are winning at the moment, so if nothing changes. we are gonna end up losing ground to WC teams after tonight, Man Fridays during 2018 was fun to watch the sox, not so much for this 2019.

The team has been playing at a 98-win pace since 6-13. If they keep that up they will definitely be in the playoffs and they are as dangerous as anyone. This is easily the best offense in MLB.
Today has definitely sucked though... So far.

Betts and Devers both had chances tonight to bring in some runs. Tough night.

This team mails it in far too often. If they do squeak in to the post season, it will be a short visit.

Today has definitely sucked though... So far. They are about to be 4 games back of Cleveland, while being 5 games back in the loss column. They are about to be 3 games back of Oakland, while being 3 games in the loss column. Ohh and 14 out of their next 16 games is against New York and Tampa Bay. Ya, this is no sure bet to win anything like you're painting it to be. IN FACT, things are looking rather ominous at the moment.

Today has definitely sucked though... So far. I keep seeing this, but this is the only month they've played .600 ball? Well, they've been very consistently playing .600 ball since 4/17. Feels like a slight disappointment to me given how dominant they were last year, but I don't think any fan can expect much more than that, especially with the way these starters were taxed in last year's playoffs. That is definitely having a nonzero effect on their performance. If they had gone 12-7 in their first 19 games, playing like they did the rest of the season so far, they'd be 58-39. I think there would still be a lot of overall disappointment just because of last year's standards, but the 6-13 stretch was so awful that it's like a hangover that's lasted the whole season so far.

I really don't expect the stretch against NY and Tampa to be a disaster based on the way the team has played for 80% of the season so far, but it certainly could change the season in a big way - in one direction or another. Take 6 of 8 against the Yankees and the division looks a lot different. I think the Indians are going to win the division, and the Sox will finish with a better record than the Twins. TB's fading too, plenty of baseball left. It's annoying that the AL East is looking pretty unattainable, but a one-game playoff is a reasonable obstacle to overcome. I am expecting these guys to step up.

Dainty David reappears after getting nasty with Eck. Not a good week for Price.
