Did anyone else know that PCAs mom played the mom in Little Big League?
Just saw that from Bradford.

Keith’s mock is little different than MLB and Baseball America and the few that spin off from what those two sites....Keith sticks to his guns that’s for sure...should see what he says about Crotchet who he dismisses as first round material. Still to say the Red Sox unequivocally pass on Able or Bitsko if they make it to 17...well. Also Chris props for the Covid beard you sport in the above link and if the Red Sox pick Abel you owe me Bodos. I want a sandwich and a ceaser. Yeah that's definitely Law. He takes a position and sticks with it, and I think he does so sincerely, not just to be contrarian. The beard part is easy, but thanks. And I would buy anyone on this Forum Bodo's in a heartbeat. Man I miss that place. Will be interesting to see if they draft Soderstrom if they keep him at Catcher or move him somewhere else in the field. The sense that I've gotten from reading about him isn't that he's a butcher back there or anything, and I'm not sure he's got a Bryce Harper or Wil Myers-level bat where you just get him off the position so he can get to the majors because of his bat. But I could be wrong. I’m surprised that Cade Cavalli isn’t linked to the Red Sox at all. He’s mentioned in and around the 17 range. He’s certainly a high reward pick. Fangraphs and Keith kinda love the guy. He also fits with the recent Red Sox trend of picking college relievers turned starters (granted the transition was his sophomore year). First year he stopped trying to hit. Fangraphs have him at exactly 17 and I wonder where Keith will rank him tomorrow. I feel like he got mocked to them in one of the early drafts by one of the B-tier sites. Does anyone else remember this or am I making it up? He was mocked to the Red Sox I just can’t find the proof yet

Was this mock the staff mock from today? Was curious who the Sox ended up with in that one

Josh Norris picked Garret Crochet to the Sox. Pretty sure that mock was not based on any intel, though.

I wonder if he's hearing this separate from the KLaw thing. Might be something to ask him about.... like on a podcast... (Questions to podcast@soxprospects.com y'all)

Anyone think Cole Wilcox was putting it together before the shutdown and some teams in the top 10-15 range will regret passing on him?

Did anyone else know that PCAs mom played the mom in Little Big League? Just saw that from Bradford. WAIT WHAT?? So does that techincally make Billy Heywood and Pete Crow-Armstrong half brothers? How does Roenicke feel about this, his situation is already tenuous.

Bitsko is a draft eligible 17 year old. If he drops to 17, I could see us jumping all over him. High risk, high reward!

Hendrick is also my bet for first round caliber prospect to not get drafted, because I think he'll be the toughest sign as someone who didn't get to improve their stock by playing at all this spring, and he will also be a draft-eligible sophomore.

I'm the king of harping on one little aspect of draft prospects and running with it, so after Chris and Ian mentioned that the Sox had a lot of success developing changeups in their 2019 draftees at Lowell last year I've been scouring scouting reports for guys that either have developing changeups or changeups that they didn't have to use much at their respective level, such as Wilcox or Cavalli. I know that's only one small part of the evaluation package, but it seems like something the Red Sox can exploit to their advantage.

I got to be honest Cavalli intrigues me as well as Keith Law and Fangraphs. The fact that he was athletic enough to be a hitter but finally gave it up to concentrate on pitching, and showed vast improvement with his control this spring, annnd having three legit pitches with a decent change to be developed....he just screams upside to me, and you don’t have to wait 4 to 5 years as you would a HS arm. The only real hit on him is historically his fastball gets hit a littler harder than one would guess. Law says it’s not straight and he has some deception (unlike Wilcox) so really if a team can figure that out, it’s on. Or so it would seem to me. I think I’m just trying to adjust to the idea of maybe not getting Abel...

First I heard of makeup concerns?? Believe his mock has the Red Sox passing on Abel, Soderstrom, Bitsko, and PCA... I think just nobody has a clue or any Intel pertaining the Red Sox.

I would be disappointed if the Sox passed on PCA, Soderstrom, and Abel to take Crochet. I don't think he has a high ceiling and there are injury concerns.

I don't think anyone has information like they had in previous drafts, just the nature of it, but Longenhagen is fairly plugged in so this isn't baseless by him.
