ERod with 6k's. Foolin' guys. catching 'em looking...swinging. If he and Sale can be stout frontline guys, that would be real helpful

I know he has an injury history (mostly accident prone) but unsure of why we havent tried to lock up Edrod long term while cheap.... same with Benni and Devers,

Can't believe the swing on Devers HR. WOW.

Devers with a wrist-flick HR to CF in his first AB today. What crazy power he has.
Also, Eovaldi had a clean 11 pitch first inning. Looks like he’s throwing with mid season level effort.

Eovaldi perfectly mixing speed in a 1-2-3 second inning. He struck out the side. I have him slated for no less than a third place finish for the Cy Young award.

I have to imagine they have at least brought it up. Actually, I think there was a tweet around the time of his hearing that the Red Sox haven't approached him about a longer-term contract. Devers is really the top priority there. While I'd be down in signing ERod for the right price and said his agent should be call number 2 after they cleared CBT space, the fickleness of the pitching market makes me wonder if extending him is the right move. I would not sign Benintendi yet. He needs to show me last year was an aberration first.

Following Eovaldi with Workman seems a bit unfair.

Houck looks pretty good imo. Made Acuna and Osuna look foolish on sliders.
And another solid inning for him. Lots of groundballs and getting some K's as well...encouraging.

I would not sign Benintendi yet. He needs to show me last year was an aberration first. This was from mlbtraderumors yesterday. The Red Sox have not broached the subject of a contract extension with Rafael Devers, though the player says he’s open to it, per Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com. Of course, that’s a boilerplate response from Devers, and one of the reasons agents are so important for players. Devers, represented by Nelson Montes de Oca of Rep 1 Baseball, can let a shoulder shrug do his talking while rightfully laying contract responsibilities at the feet of his agent. He will be arbitration-eligible for the first time after this upcoming season, so he can expect to field extension questions on a regular basis, though neither party has cause to be in any particular rush. After playing a starring role in the Red Sox 2018 World Series win, Devers didn’t disappoint with a .311/.361/.555 line last season with 32 home runs and 115 RBIs. He also notched a league-leading 54 doubles. Devers isn’t set to hit free agency until after the 2023 season. Let’s see what else is going on in the AL East…

Before the Red Sox got under the luxury tax threshold, they weren't really able to extend young guys without them costing more in the short term, messing up their budget. That may (should) change now.

So the minor league games will NO LONGER be involved with the Orioles? Because of North Port and the Braves?

Eovaldi’s stuff looks so filthy. Nothing new here, but shades of Kevin Brown

I think there's a chance he ultimately carves out a role as the "fifth starter", aka the guy who follows the opener. If not, I still think he'll be a pretty quality late-inning reliever.

I'd be shocked if he was on the opening day 25 man roster.

Workman looked nice yesterday! He threw almost all curves and they were nasty. Everybody pretty much knew what was coming, that didn't help.
