That Devers HR was ridiculous. It looked like a pop fly off the end of his bat that he lunged at and it still went out to CF. Seems that the ball has not been unjuiced.

Looks like relatively random teams. That your sense?

Looks like relatively random teams. That your sense? Yes. Who's here and ready for an at-bat? This was the first day* I saw pitchers throwing actual bullpens to catchers, and they were calling over to the game catchers to come out of the bullpens early to be ready for the "games." There might be a wave of guys yet to report, but I would say there were fewer guys I didn't see at least in passing than I expected. * In fairness I was shooting the MLB games and had to leave on the early side until Monday. Seemed like they were holding the fields for roster player work until about 11:00a and the minor leaguers would start streaming out after that. I assume that will change as they get closer to games.

Bobby Bombs today at 1st. I am calling it. Dalbec and Casas (along with Devers) look as though the organization decided to go the opposite way from the smurfs that were the previous wave of prospects to make the team.

Bobby with nice at bats. Devers, all else being equal, will garner heavy MVP consideration this year. he had an at-bat against a heavy slider type lefty that was something only the real great ones can accomplish.

Hope so...nothing against Smurfs. A lot of our little guys were drafted after the first round but overlooked for the very reason that they were undersized. So we benefitted on talent, not stature. But now that we are likely to move up a bit for a few years, I'd opt for a few Bunyans. There is a certain comfort a tree trunk like Dalbec gives in the box.

Casas in as a late inning replacement. struck out against Toussaint but wow, Casas looks huge (for any age, let alone 20 years old) when you see him in that batter's box.

Springs pitched really well to finish the game. His changeup looked really good and he was able to play his fastball off of it. Got a lot of swing and misses and guys looking. Another potential piece to the bullpen situation if things break right.

But you know what they say: hope Springs eternal.

I meant that the hitter's timing was off largely due to Springs. Their timing didn't look so bad against the other pitchers. Everything he threw, they either didn't swing or were early or were late. There's more there than meets the eye.

Caught some of Sox in 2 last night, Weber had a pretty strong performance against a strong Braves lineup.
