I certainly would at least give Bauers agent a call. I dont share the enthusiasm that some of you do for what is currently on the roster. Matter of fact I'd be all in on moving Eovaldi if they got a decent offer.

We also have Mata who could be ready as soon as April 16 but mid season is more likely.

Considering the injury concerns/history and limited innings pitched for most Of our projected starters next year, would it be that crazy to go with a 6-man rotation? Sale E-Rod Eolvadi Houck Pivetta Perez Wouldn’t be the craziest thing in the world. I give it a 1/1000 chance these guys are all healthy and pitching well, but if that does happen, the bullpen could use Eovaldi's help. Sale seems to be on a good pace in his recovery. E-Rod has been cleared to 'start walking' in a couple of weeks... Eovaldi last past 125 innings in 2015 Houck will be a Rookie who has maxed at 119 innings back in 2018. Pivetta has good stuff, but he he lost his rotation spot in philadelphia Perez had 4.06 BB/9 and a career best .266 babip. He's likely to regress back to a borderline #5 They're going to have to add a lot more pitching before they consider a 6-man rotation.

At the ATS you could see his arm slot dropping in outings where he was struggling. Fine-tuning, to be sure, but it's fine-tuning they have the luxury of giving him time for. Yeah, if those guys are all healthy, I don't see the need to force them all into the rotation, and I'm also not comfortable with relying them all being healthy to not sign a starter this offseason.
